wow, Is that a sweet looking machine. You definitly have a keen attention to detail. I love restoration threads like these, being musclecars, tractors or what have you. Realy makes you appretiate the total work that goes into a project like this. I wish I took half the pictures you did when building my Roadrunner.

Wow, thanks to everyone for the kind words, but like I said, it's a three foot paint job. I doubt I'd win any trophies, but I'm not scared to use it.

Well, it's finally done, or at least done for now. I have a CV driveshaft that I might put in, but we'll see how the 2000 series holds up. I imagine I'll swap in a cast iron trans case if/when the time comes. There's little I'd do differently, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I do kind of wish I had taken the tin work to a body man for real paint and dent repair, but then I'd be afraid to do anything with it. A correct three point and PTO would be nice, but then I'd need a tiller. A small part of me wishes I had plumbed in one of those little IHI turbochargers, and a triple spool hydraulic valve, but I don't need either for what I'll be doing. Etc., etc., maybe in a year or two I'll do some of these things just for fun, or perhaps I'll pick up a zero turn and she'll be free to lose the deck and do other things.

Anyways, I'd like to thank everyone once again, and share another discovery I've made. The battery cover/hold down from a 1415, 1620, 1720, etc. looks similar to what is supposed to be there, and MTD still offers one of the rods. I ordered two, and will report back on my findings. I can say the cover fits nicely over my U1L battery, but I'm going to need to open the battery cable hole up a bit.

Well anyways, I'll shut up and post some pictures. Here they are:

Came out sweet. Like the night shots. How do you like the seat with the arm rests? I may have to add a new seat this year. Paul
