The first time I push the starter button..........nothing. The only thing I didn't check was the starter. I removed the belt from the starter and pushed the starter button....had a click in the voltage regulator. Let's try this one more time...electric flash came out the back of the starter and it spun. Reconnected the belt and the 70 came to life!!!
My Wife and I drove it around the yard for 30 minutes. Here are a few pictures of the 70 now: http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...Dick/UD177.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...Dick/UD176.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...Dick/UD175.jpg I still have some fine tuning to do to the steering, clutch and brakes. It's been a fun project to do. Thanks to everyone for the complements. I hope everyone enjoyed the restoration. |
Fantastic job. Fantastic Cub Cadet.:beerchug:

Great job Merk. I swore I would still mow w/ mine after I repainted it. I find myself, now, thinking otherwise. I've got a 149 to mow with and I'll keep my 100 as a toy.
Terrific write up. Ian |
Excellent job! You must be proud of it....I know I would be if I was in your boots! You actually got the wife to drive it around too? WOW, you got a keeper there if she too is into this stuff! :beerchug:

Thanks to everyone for the complements.
The 70 started to earn it's keep today. I had to do a few things at the cementary where my In-Laws are burried. I hook the cart to the 70 and drove it to the cementary and back. 70 ran like a dream. |
I am impressed! Can I borrow your wife for a week or so to convince my wife this is a fun past time!??? She can even bring her tractor along to help convince my wife of it.....my garden is near ready to be ploughed for the fall :O)
