Got it back on 4 wheels this afternoon. Even if I do have the rear wheels backwards :bash2: They are coming off later once I decide what I want to do with them.

👍nice work. Tires are only backwards if your going forwards!:bigthink:

Years ago we put the tires on the combine like that so if we got stuck going fwd, we could always back up.
-------Don't know if it worked because we didn't stick it.

Started cleaning up the grill and frame this morning. Interesting that there appear to be 3 layers of paint. Top was white, then red and lastly yellow.

Looks really good!! I like how you are cleaning the parts!:beerchug::beerchug: Is that some kind of electrolysis procedure?:bigthink:

smalljob 06-11-2017 11:18 AM

Yes, I wire wheel the heavy stuff off then put them in the electrolysis process. Works good at getting into the nooks and crannies that are hard to get at with a wire wheel and what is left usually comes off a lot easier.

If you look back a bit in this thread you will see that I did the frame and pedestal that way also. I have done wheels also on previous projects. have not decided if I will on this one yet. Only works if you are not in a rush.

That's why I prefer a sandblasted. I did all the parts for a 100 in about two hours.

smalljob 06-11-2017 12:44 PM

Yes sandblasting is nice, but I don't have a setup for it. I do have a local guy that does it when I need it.

What kind of sandblasting equipment do you have?

Tim... we all know that you are fast!:biggrin2: You put most of us to shame!:biggrin2::biggrin2:

I agree sandblasting is the most efficient way to do it... but DANG I hate that hood, long sleeves, and respirator... especially on a hot summer day in GA!!:bash2::bash2:
