Working on the cubs

Got my 3 point hitch put back on my worker 782. Cleaned up my nicer 782 and swapped the mowing deck.

I tried to start up my 782 today with the snow blade on it to get ready for the snow/ice we have coming in on Sunday, and it took a while to start, which it never did... and then it stopped working all together. I smelled something get hot so I lifted the seat to look under there, I figured I melted the solenoid or something... NOPE. I melted the negative battery terminal. It looks like a solder drip in the bottom of the battery tray. I'm not sure what happened there, but now I need a new battery. I'm guessing it was an unclean connection that got real hot. :bash2::bash2::bash2::bash2::bash2::bash2:

Tore apart my 1250 and discovered almost half of the cylinder wall is scored pretty seriously. Needs to go from .010 to .020 (maybe even .030 if they're bad enough. I'm gonna tear it down to bare block and see what a machine shop says about it. So much for using with my snowthrower this season.

Glued up a few new brake pads.
A 7.5" x 7.5" x 1/8" piece of friction mat'l from McMaster Carr will yield a dozen pads. |

Not today, but Saturday I finished getting the 129 ready for winter. Swapped the ag tires for turfs and chains and added 217 lbs of weight. My homemade wheel weights are 50lbs each, IH weights are 26lbs each, and the weight bar on the hitch is 65lbs.
