Beretta Model 21A .22LR
1 Attachment(s)
My father in law gave me this Beretta recently. He bought it new several years ago and said he just wanted to pass it along. It only cost me $5 to add to my permit:beerchug:

Nice little noise maker.:beerchug: What caliber?
|
Martin, your a gun owner in the state of New York. I don't envy you. I like that I have no required registration or permits. Only a Firearm Owners ID card, and I'm good to possess firearms.
Heirlooms are great. Nice Beretta! |

The 21A was available in .22LR or .25ACP. Did a quick search, and it seems it's able to be converted.... |

I got the .22LR .25 ACP off the box that came with it. |

Nice Beretta :beerchug: |
I would like to ask, given the events of late ( Texas church shooting, Las Vegas ) has anyone that did not carry, now start to carry either open or concealed? I carried concealed for years until my kids were born. I then decided to lock up the guns. Now that my youngest is 20 and well trained in the use of firearms I have decided to start carrying again. I have an FFL and the number of transfers and gun sales have gone way up. I do not stock firearms but we do order them for customers. The number of AR receivers sold has gone through the roof.
|
Just imagine if just one person in church had a pistol. Could have been a lot less people dead. Yet, people continue to support and vote for gun grabbing, politician dirt balls like Hillary. She was also accused of causing quite a stir with her whiz-bang comment on the Vegas shooting, quoting along the lines of : "Imagine the death toll if the shooter had a faster gun" ,... . Now, who the h3ll in America is going to say something like that? Can't blame the church shooting on us! I have a deep anger with those gun grabbers. There was a kid who walked into school and just shot up the students. Gun grabbers say he has a right to live out the rest of his days in a tax payer supported prison. And with all the countries in the world that continue to make bombs, and the alike, there is no way I'm giving up gun!
I don't carry, would not say if I did or did not. I, too know some fine fire arms but I don't feel I need to have guns like Ar's. Though I support the 2nd Amendment fully! My gun is special to me. Perhaps I should share a picture of it. Its not expensive, but for home protection, should be fine for the protection. I have shot 3 coon, and a possum with it in my hen house so far. The critters have kind of got the idea they are not welcome around here as I have not had to shoot my gun in over a year! I hate cleaning them any way! |
When I was in high school, we were asked to read the book : Anne Frank. We then were asked to give a report about it, and if there was any item from WW2 we could bring into class that went along with the book. I got permission from my school to bring in a Japanese Arisaka type 2. The Dean Of Students kept my gun in his office, I kept a few live rounds in my locker until it was time for me to give my report. All was on video. Got an A on the report!
But, how have times changed! Just because someone's live sucks don't make it a right to shoot innocent people! Its time for stricter punishment for serious gun violations. |

Someone say Firearms?
Its one of my main passions (along with Ham Radio and Cars) . I carry most times I'm out and about.
I love to shoot and collect guns! |

I do have a fondness for S&W revolvers and 80% receivers though. Thank God in NC all you need to have to buy a rifle is cash. A pistol requires a "pistol permit" (a $5 tax originally to prevent blacks from obtaining guns during the Jim Crow days) or a Concealed Carry permit. Oh, and as much as no gun laws make sense, concealed carry requires a permit but open carry is unregulated , just as the 2nd intended it to be. RKBA! |
Cowboy Action?
Anybody else into Cowboy Action Shooting? (sassnet.com)
Found this game a couple years ago, have been having a lot of fun dressing up like a cowboy (though my outfits are very simple) and shooting steel for an afternoon. |
Do you have to have a vintage $ingle action Colt? :biggrin2:
That does look like fun. |

There are a few guys who are shooting Colts, but not many want to put such valuable guns through the rigor of thousands and thousands of rounds per year. The Rugers Vaqueros are by far the most popular pistols. Most (80%?) shoot .38 special as it is much less expensive to reload than, say, .45 Colt. Some shoot black powder (or subs) and even shoot .44-40 or other classic cartridges. |
I want to go watch one of those events in the spring. I know there's an active group here in NC. I'm sure you're right, much more sensible to wail away with Rugers rather than with a vintage SAA. 38 is easy to reload and fun to shoot. I've got a Ruger 44 mag, and while it's accurate and reliable, the 38 is much more enjoyable to plink with.
I just got an old Colt in 32-30.... it's a police positive and not particularly valuable but I'm looking forward to shooting it. I reload for 32-30 and it's also a pleasant round thru a revolver. |

Lots of videos on youtube. Some of the best is a series by Long Hunter.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbM_MZBSKng There are about a dozen videos in this series that discuss all the different aspects of CAS. There are about 100 active competitors in the Richmond, VA area, and 5 clubs within an hour of Richmond. You can shoot at least 6 times a month if you want at one or the other club. (I shoot maybe twice/three times/month). A bunch of these guys go to matches in NC every year, including the NC State Championship, though I have not done that yet. I'm shooting the rifle and pistols here in a match in 2016. The guy standing behind me is the timer operator/range officer. There is a major emphasis on safety, and lots of rules around loading and handling the guns. |

Picked this up new a couple weeks ago, Turkish made "Canuck" 9mm 1911, goofy name IMO but it seems to be well made and was reasonably priced. Only 105 rnds thru it so far. Laser is green and much easier to see in daylight than a red dot.

On a more serious note, the 1911 is my favorite handgun. They feel good in the hand and shoot so nice. |
BLACK PISTOLS MATTER!
Hard to improve on a 1911. They're fine pistols and they're now built by a wide variety of competent folks. I've heard the Rock Island / Armscorp versions are good too. I've got a couple of 1911 historical "clones" ....a Ballister Monina and a Argentine Sistema Colt from the early 30's I believe. Great pistols and other than my P09 luger, the most comfortable, naturally pointing handgun I've had the pleasure to shoot. |
So....................
This being a forum about Cub Cadets, does anyone have an International Harvester M1 Garand 30-06 rifle?? https://www.range365.com/gun-history...-garand#page-2 https://www.americanrifleman.org/art...-garand-rifle/ |
Originally I was planning on upgrading the sights but the laser was on sale last weekend... havent decided if it will stay on. Ive been watchin the used market for a 9mm all winter but nothing exciting came up so I went new... but still cheap.... the Tisas Canuck was $100 less than an M&P... and I dont care much for those unless the trigger is upgraded which is another $150. But Ya, you cant go wrong with a 1911... and gettin your garden tractor addiction to pay for it is even better ;)

This was before they sold them by condition and manufacturer. I included a hand written note asking for either an International Harvester or a H&R. I also thanked them in advance for getting me a nice rifle. It shoots great. I added military match sights and used it for NRA High Power competition. |

I did not know they existed until one sold earlier tonight at auction on proxibid.com for $1300 in average field grade condition. |
Put a scabbard on the Cub for the rifle.
|
I've wanted an IH garand too...they're so cool.
I do have a RockOla (Juke box) M1Carbine I paid a staggering 275$ from J&G sales about 20 yrs ago. I missed the boat on the Garands though. I was stocking up on Swedish Mausers |
Antique LeFever Double Gun
Anyone familiar with these vintage shotguns? Came into ownership of a 10 gauge last week..... made around 1891..
|
10g makes my shoulder sore just to think of it.
Pix by chance? That's a cannon. I picked up a Sig 239 locally this weekend, and I can't wait to shoot it. Really fits the hand well, and what's not to like about metal guns? Meanwhile, the tax stamp wait continues... |
