Thanks ACecil and Diz Jr.. Matt G had me check the engine tag. Looks like it was born a pull start.:biggrin2.gif:

Hey RPalmer, I got one of those K161 "T" Originals also! #4298. It looks like this one may have the IH Electric Start Conversion kit added years ago.

RPalmer 10-02-2009 11:58 AM

In all honesty... I just got lucky. Right now it's even a joy just to look at. It will probably take me a couple of years to do.

Merk.
I was shooting for this month to bring you an engine.... Then I found the OCC. So I won't be seeing you anytime soon.

Roblynn 10-02-2009 12:39 PM

RPalmer, 750 units apart on the assembly line. They are close enough to be brothers!

And 113 units apart from Kohler. That's pretty cool!

My new project 1650

I found this one in the woods at a house I bought. I'm working on bringing it back to life. K341 runs like a top. Haven't yet tried the hydro. Front pivot socket for the front axle is torn out of the frame. Needs a lot of work. I'm going to scavenge parts from a 1450 to get it up and running again. Then the MTD in the background gets sold!

The story is that this one had a sister, bought at the same time. She cough fire and before it could be put out she burned up. Maybe sometime in the future we can get them together. See if they remember one another.:biggrin2.gif:

Here is my 1650 all restored and powder coated

RPalmer 10-02-2009 07:30 PM

autoace388,

Is all the metal on the tractor powder coated? The color looks really good. You have a very, very clean Cub Cadet!:beerchug:

autoace388 10-02-2009 08:08 PM

The only parts not powder coated are the fiberglass dash panel and the main hydro case . I also have a 44'' mowing deck that is powdered as well . It took some time to find a color that was close to the original in powder. I ended up using ''safety yellow'' its a touch brighter in the sun than stock.

ACecil 10-02-2009 11:06 PM

Great looking 1650, autoace388! Thanks for the pic. :beerchug:

Diz Jr. 10-03-2009 12:09 AM

thenrie,
good luck on you tractor
Looks like you have a good start fixin it up. Glad the engine runs good.

autoace388,
Great job on your restore :IH Logo:

thenrie 10-03-2009 01:05 AM

Autoace, I just looked through your 1650 album. Man, you did a great job on it. Unlikely mine will get the powder coat, but your work is certainly something for me to shoot for as I get mine back into shape!

got this 682 from a guy i worked with . did not run for 7 years. needs a little Loven's but runs good :Cub8:

autoace388 10-03-2009 03:58 PM

I spent almost a year restoring the tractor . I just happened to get lucky enough to know a guy, That worked at a local manufacturing company that has a powder coating oven big enough to get all the parts in. Thanks for all the comments on how it turned out. Before the restore I had beaten the tar out of the thing and I felt like I owed it a little pampering.

ACecil 10-03-2009 05:12 PM

Nice 682, mikeut01! Thanks for the pic. :beerchug:

Newbie

This 1982 782 HYDRO was given to me by my dad. He bought an 882 and this has been sitting in his shed for the past 3 years. The original engine has been replaced with a Kohler 17 Series II. I know this is a MTD, but it does say International on the dash.

I may get a bit of abuse for this, but I was going to buy a John Deere 332. Somebody got to it before me. Before you judge me for this look into them. They are a stout little tractor.

You should pay attention to your dad.:Duel::Shame:

Matt G. 10-10-2009 05:19 PM

Well, apparently my dad's been spending my money for me today...I now own this:

Supposedly runs good but the shifter spins. I won't get to see it 'til December...

Here is my Cub with my newly designed 200 lb weight for plowing snow. I thought about buying wheel weights but with prices these days, I decided to make my own. It only cost me $9 in Sakcrete and other things around the garage.

ACecil 10-29-2009 11:47 PM

Awesome job, dieselsnowmobile!

Diz Jr. 10-30-2009 08:00 AM
