That one is mine, maybe someone drilled it out, as that is the right part number.
Need a new shaft? PM me.... |

I got off this project for a bit while I took care of some other things. I started back into it because spring is around the corner and I want to use the sleeve hitch. We last left this project with some driveline issues. I was going to just replace the driveshaft. As it turns out the pump input shaft was pretty worn, and the trunion assembly was completely beaten to the point I don’t know if it could be fixed. So I decided to go a different way. I had a pump from an 1862 and a driveshaft from a 1211, and a driveshaft from a 2165 in the scrap heap. So I swapped the pump and made a driveshaft out of the two shafts. The rear part is 4” of the 2165 shaft mounted to the pump. The rest of the shaft is the 1211 shaft. The shaft slides into the inside of the 2165 shaft. It was really tight to get up inside though, and I welded it to the 1211 shaft. I had to cut about 5” off the 1211 shaft to get to the right length of 16.5”. The fan is a 123 fan too that’s missing a blade. I will put a new fan when I take it apart to do a restore on it after I make sure everything is working as I want it to. I did decide to put a window on the top of the tunnel to get at everything. I will make a cover to screw down to cover it. Also i am going with auto check valves rather than manual. So, pics?

Driveshaft works good. But, engine not so much. It went BANG and died immediately. No compression at all. Broken rod I presume. :bash2: The oil is where it should be and looks good.
Edit: it made a window Attachment 98510 Attachment 98511 Attachment 98512 |
Sorry to hear about that, do you have another motor?
|
I do, but I’ve never seen it run. It is off the other 123 I stripped. It’s not as pretty externally but if it runs, fine. It feels like it has good compression. I never had one snap like that one. It melted the rod on the crank journal. I can see it through the window.

Well, you have a spare at least. Keep us posted.
|
That sucks after all that work.
|
That's disappointing. Sorry to hear.

Sorry to hear that, hopefully the other one runs.
