I wouldn't worry about the brace not fitting over that patch, you can bend the arm to give you some clearance. Looks like you needed more heat for the weld and I would have plated it. Looking at your pic the frame looks like it's also cracked around the bolt hole. Honestly I would be looking for a better frame. |

Speaking of parts. Was looking up the cork gasket and some other things, put in the serial number, and it seemed to come up as a 1711, not a 1811.:bigthink: Here's the tag, tell me if I'm right or wrong. Maybe another surprise was waiting for me.:biggrin2: https://s2.postimg.org/a40ebbxnt/181..._repair_54.jpgphoto hosting sites |

The machine code is for a 782 just like the model number.
:bigthink: I just looked at my first 1811 that I sold and it is like yours. Attachment 82564 |

Doesn't really matter, same tractor in the end, but would just be nice to know.:bigthink: |
Got the rear end disassembled today. Cork gasket don't look the worst. But the axle seals did.:biggrin2:
Also found out it was leaking around the filter... So, ordered cork gasket, axle seals and gaskets. https://s2.postimg.org/xcsu6ocvt/cub_1811_1.jpgimgurl https://s8.postimg.org/ss9j4dxdx/cub_1811_3.jpgupload pics https://s12.postimg.org/4lr3t2njh/cub_1811_4.jpgfree picture hosting https://s10.postimg.org/b5iejdfbt/cub_1811_7.jpgpost a picture |
How much watery goo was in the axle housings when you pulled them? My 1811 was pretty icky (couldn't think of a more technical term). Are you going to drill return holes for the rear?

Todd:
Factory numbers for an 1811 are: 146-782-100 147-660-100 148-660-100 149-660-100 It would be an 1811! :beerchug: |
the cub numbering system really drives me nuts! seems like they skipped around and changed stuff every year or two. is there a good breakdown somewhere that explains it? I can figure out the motor part but the last part don't make much sense.
