You better have a good grip on that when you pull the trigger. :beerchug:

It's not too bad really, it does take a little getting used to though. It sure will make confetti out of a stack of books:biggrin2:

Thanks. For a weapon that only cost $650 brand new ( I got mine used for less ), it sure does shoot very well.

Dirty Steve, sent a PM :beerchug:

Got my NY compliant spur instead of using an evil Pistol Grip and a trigger guard called a Patrick Henry Trigger guard. Now I need to get a barrel with no flash suppressor (threads have to be permanently covered) and a fixed buttstock. Only then can a person use a removable TEN round magazine.

Here is my build so far. Waiting for bolt carrier group and charging handle to get here. I put the lower parts kit in yesterday. Took it slow and it went together well. Can wait to toss some lead down range. Looking at scopes and mounts too.

I've had this gsg 1911 .22 for about 7yrs, the black finish that came on it wasn't much better than spray paint so it didn't last long. I've always wanted to send it out and have it coated in desert tan but the cost was prohibitive considering how cheap these guns are, about two weeks ago I powder coated some parts for a customer in desert tan and that's when the light bulb came on. Here's some pics.

jerkin 12-22-2016 11:16 AM

Be interesting to see how it shoots after powder coating. I'd be a bit worried that it would change the tolerances and cause it to hang up. I suppose it's nothing a little sandpaper in the correct places couldn't fix. Let us know how it works.

It took about an hour's worth of sanding to get the slide to move freely on the frame, hopefully the rest of it goes together OK.

Got it all together, it went together pretty easy so I don't foresee any issues. I still need to install the sights but I think I I'm gonna buy a different set.

olds45512 12-25-2016 12:24 PM

Got a chance this morning to run a few mags through it and it functioned great, feels great shooting it again after being torn apart for about 2yrs.

Does anybody have a Sig p320? If so what are your thoughts?

sawdustdad 01-21-2017 08:35 PM

Army seems to like them, to the tune of $580 million, I think. Looking for a bunch of surplus Berettas coming soon...

I'll take a few of those surplus Berettas for the right price.

Here is my ruger Gunsite scout .308 scout rifle. I was looking for a short barrel bolt action rifle for shooting as out longest range is only 100-150 yards. I was able to steal this rifle from Gander MTN as some idiot marked it for 500 instead on 999.00 and they took my money for catching on.

Not bad at all. If you're disappointed, spend more trigger time and improve. :beerchug:

Rock Island is a great gun for the money, i had the compact model with a bull barrel and it functioned great and was very accurate for having such a short sight radius. Here is my 1911, it's gunsmith built with a caspian frame and slide with all Wilson combat internals, it's a commander sized gun so it has 4 1/4" barrel. the grips are from Lok grips, if your looking for different grips i can't recommend them enough, the gentlemen that owns the company is great to deal with and the grips are very high quality. the sights are tritium night sights from novak.

Nice! I know the pic it bad, but it came with the same G10 grips that Lok makes. It's a 4.25" as well with a full length guide rod. It's pretty fully loaded for the $610 my local dealer let me have it for. I only wish it had the tritium sights, mine are adjustable but it only has a front fiber optic sight.

I could tell they were G10 but most guys like to customize and the factory grips are usually the first thing to go, just don't get punisher grips.:biggrin2:

H&R Ultra slug gun owners?

Anyone in Cub land own a H&R ultra slug gun? Here in Illinois we can't use a rifle so we hunt with a shotgun and slugs. Some now use a muzzle loader. I hope to get my grandson out for youth hunt, but my gun stock is way long for a small frame 7 year old. Anyone have luck changing the stock on their H&R? By the way I use a 20ga.

zippy1 08-17-2017 11:21 PM

Wow, you all can take a 7 year old out for a youth hunt? Here in Wisconsin anyone 10 or older can now obtain a hunting license and hunt without first completing a hunter education course. He or she must be accompanied by a licensed hunter, hunt within arm's reach of the mentor, and follow other rules.
What about looking for a used youth size shotgun.:bigthink:
