Like Todd said keep the pictures coming. Going to make a great tractor when you are done. I know that I really like the running the 782 that I fixed up for the wife.

Thanks Tom.. that beast you build last year has been an inspiration for this one! If it's half as nice as yours I'll be happy!:beerchug:

Hey, progress is progress no matter how small it my seem. Just like eating an elephant all it takes is one bite at a time and the job will get done. The tubes look good to me.

Nice work Jay! We walk before we can run. A little progress is still PROGRESS! Hang in there!

When you start hooking up the fittings on the steering unit for the final time,
one needs to start with the center fittings and work out as there is not enough room for a wench, er wrench if you start on the outsides and work in, prolly already found that out.:biggrin2:

Thanks Tom! Your last project is part of the inspiration for this one... won't be near as fancy as yours but I hope it turns out to be a nice workhorse!:beerchug:

Thanks for the tips George... means alot to me coming from a guy like you!:biggrin2: Been there done that advice is WAAY better than the guy that thinks he knows!:biggrin2: Dad calls it the school of hard knocks!:biggrin2: I knew it was gonna be tight.. might have to massage a wrench a little!:bigthink:

ol'George 09-05-2018 07:28 AM

You can massage a Wench, :biggrin2: but you will not need to message a wrench for those fittings.
When one looks at the fittings, it pretty much is self explanatory/common sense which ones to go first.

Well I think I finished up the P/S lines.. been a bit of a challenge but I learned a lot about bending and flaring tubing.. kinda fun once you get the knack of it.:beerchug: hung the cylinder and hooked up the lines also.. need to get some new steering hoses made... these are hard and dry.. don't trust them.. doesn't appear that anybody still offers them pre made.. Next I guess i'll power up the pump and test for leaks.. anybody got a good way to do that without installing the engine?:bigthink:.. Maybe an old driveshaft and a drill?:bigthink: Open for suggestions!:beerchug:

Also took advantage of Aarons sale this month and bought myself a Birthday present!:biggrin2::biggrin2: Yes I know they are expensive... but I've had a thing for 23 degree Firestone's since Dad had a set on a 100 way back in 1970! We still have those but they are getting pretty old and dry!:beerchug: Hands down the best looking Ag tire ever made and the best pulling in my book!:beerchug: Won't be needing them for a while but now I don't have an excuse not to buy them!

Dirty Steve 09-13-2018 03:17 PM

Nice! Power steering, ag tires. Looking real nice!
