73

Worked on the 73 today got the right spindel out easy the left was so rusted in i had to drill a hole through the top with a 3/8 th and then went to a 5/8, th and put a 1/2 inch bolt in and pounded it out. the hood and grille were not the right ones .So the hood . grille , steeering wheel and seat were donated from a 125 , steering is from a 102

Had the cub 126 loader out and moving some decks and parts.
These loaders sure save alot of time and effort!!
I had it buried in the back of the garage for a couple years and thought it was time to get it out and play!

plummcrazy1864 11-18-2010 10:00 PM

Nice lookin loader you got on that cub Cubcrazy. If I had one don't know I would do.....guess play and push everything in sight.

Love that Cub and loader. I try not to think about loaders because then I'd want a second super to put one on!

Looks like fun AC.

I got the Cab on my 1872. Only one pic because I put up a thread on it. I also replaced a bad headlight and tail light. I have gotten the little strap that connects the mower lift arm to the implement lift arm. This is supposed to reinforce the lift so I don't break the rockshaft like I did last year. Sure hope it works! I'll post pics when I mount it.

Nice to see all the cub action:beerchug: I've been loggin in some hours this week on my cubs. Pulled the creeper off my 2nd O' and figured out why it's popping out of gear, fixed that. Decided to take the reduction housing/clutch from my 1st O' and put that on my 2nd O'. Got it all back together and took it for a test run, works good:biggrin2.gif:. I'll save the creeper for when I restore the 2nd O'. Had to weld up some cracks in the frame too:beer2:

ACecil 11-20-2010 10:23 PM

Great job, Jude! :beerchug:

Diz Jr. 11-21-2010 08:24 AM

Looking good ACecil
Both pictures are cool but the first one is my favorite :biggrin2.gif:

ACecil 11-21-2010 11:48 AM

Thanks Diz! I like that one also. You can see the Fall color in the background. :High5:

juniors1282 11-21-2010 12:49 PM

Nice picture's Allen looks like fun!

Good work Squatch, Love the colors on your super, cab looks great.

You've been very busy Sminkey, Looking good can't wait to see that plow in action.

IHinIN 11-21-2010 01:58 PM

Nice work guys. Looks like you've all been busy.

Yesterday, I rewired my 126 since the wiring was a mess when I got it. I tried starting it but the battery didn't have enough charge in it to get the engine to start. It did fire a couple times but that was it. Tomorrow, I'll try the battery out of my 100 and see if it'll start then. Hopefully, I can charge up the battery and not have to buy another one.

Running real good

Well I got the 682 out to mulch leaves on the neighbors yard with my son. My boys earn $50 bucks a shot at cutting grass for the neighbors and they wanted the yard cleared of leaves too. (3.0 acres) My son was on the JD 345 and I was on the 682; he followed right behind me. I had the deck pulled up high to mulch and he came through with a cut and finish mulch. We knocked the leaves down real quick, it was good to watch 13 year old learn the tricks of leaf management

The 682 started to backfire at the end but I managed to finish. Thinking it was a lean condition I sprayed a little carb cleaner on the carb mounting base. She perked right up when I sprayed so I thought I had the problem nailed. I pulled the carb to check the gasket, oddly it was a loose choke cable that caused the choke to not open all the way making it run rich. WHATEVER. She's back together now and running way too good for the $200 I spent to buy her. I love this tractor!!!!!!!!!!!

Got my parts from ccspecialties!!

Got home from a very long day at work and sitting on my doorstep was my parts:biggrin2.gif:. I just spent the last 4 hours working on the cubs, mainly the 71. I rebuilt the pto and installed that, got the bronze pto button too. Hooked up the rod then reinstalled the blower that has a new wear edge and 14t sprocket! Replaced the retainer rings on my O's creeper and now it works perfectly:beerchug:. Will try to get the rest done tomorrow to see how the blower runs, hopefully well:NailBite:

Methos 11-23-2010 01:33 AM

That blower looks awesome Jude! Your taking great care of your fleet! Thanks for the updates!

SQUATCH: Any chance you can get a picture of the rockshaft strap? I'd like make one myself so I don't have to replace the rockshaft again either.

Alright, finally ready for some snow!! Got both the O' and the 71 completely ready for mother nature to take a big dump:biggrin2.gif:. I got the blower on the 71 up and running tonight and also replaced the plastic bushing in the steering column with a steel bearing, then put the original cap back in place over the bearing. It had a ton of play before, none now:beerchug:. The 2nd pic is of the PO's bushing holder in placer!! lol!

juniors1282 11-25-2010 12:24 AM

Sminkey, Great minds think alike. I did the same up grade to my "O" tonight. Much nicer with the steel bearing than the old plastic bushing. Yours looks good. I didn't take any picture's of my I should have, Oh well.

Sminkey 11-25-2010 10:46 AM

Thanks juniors1282!

That's funny, I'll be doing the same thing to both of my O's too. Now I want to upgrade to the bearing kit (nice 605) for the lower portion of the column. Happy Turkey Day:beerchug:

Made a lense for rear Grote.

2 Attachment(s)
Wanted a clear lense for the rear tailight so I can see when backing up at night, so I got a piece of acrylic and cut out a lense to protect the bulb from snow. Organized and cleaned up the shop now that my 2 snow movers are ready to go, come on snow!! Here's a link to a vid I made of the shop: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CsF4bgeyjAA

ACecil 11-26-2010 10:17 PM

Looks cool, Jude! Liked the vid. :beerchug:

Appreciate that, Hope your wife's surgery went well today, I wish her a speedy recovery!!

cubcadet109 11-28-2010 03:46 PM

my 109 started acting up yesterday, so to day I adjusted the point gap, and adjusted the carb to what Matt told me (Thanks Matt!!) and now, no more problems.:beerchug: Good vid sminkey!

nickvanorman 11-28-2010 06:56 PM

well...motor blew up in the 122 tonight. it was getting really weak and the connecting rod just went tonight. so, i found a K301as replacement. still sucks tho!

ihnick 11-29-2010 09:30 PM

Well tore into the 128 motor last week. There was a terrible whine noise and here the crank bearing was pitted and sloppy. Then found out the balance gears were ready to fall off then the ring gaps were rejected. So se that motor aside and pulled apart a 122 motor and that needed to be bored too. So now I got a 129 motor that needs a rod that will probably go in. Man o man why can't I get a cub that doesn't need engine work

IHinIN 12-02-2010 07:17 PM

I fixed the leaking carb on my 126. No matter how I set the float it would leak gas like the float wasn't closing of the flow of gas. I found out that the bowl vent hole was plugged up. I cleaned it out and now it doesn't leak. (fingers crossed) I'm not sure how the vent being plugged caused the carb to overfill but I'm glad it's fixed. Now I can get the 126 running and tune the carb.

ACecil 12-03-2010 12:07 AM

Great job, Adam! :beerchug:

I can see from the pic your 100 is still running:biggrin2.gif:. I'm gonna have to set one of my tractors up with the dullies, I like it alot!!!

ACecil 12-03-2010 05:23 PM

Thanks guys! It was great getting some seat time today! :beerchug:

juniors1282 12-03-2010 06:48 PM

Lucky you Allen, No seat time here, not enough snow to plow, and to cold to play.

No snow here in the valley yet:angry:. We're supposed to get snow showers the next 5 days so maybe hopefully I can plow at least:biggrin2.gif:. Tonight I simple greened the hood and fenders on the 124 and  to my amazement the hood looks sweet! Had a bunch of algae/fungus growing on it, had to scrub it hard to get it off. Started tearing down the rear of it too.
