I’m finally done with the prototype phase and will start getting some of these made up. Hope to have a couple sets ready to go by the end of next week. Anyway this is what the SGT brace will look like. Kit will also include all the hardware needed to install it. Just need to get pricing from the machine shop I use for drilling all the holes. :beerchug:

If that is the way you want it but I want to caution you that if you are thinking about using your existing Haban bracket I already tried that and ended up welding the brace where you see the red line in the pic because the OEM Haban has the back lower corner cut at an angle and it doesn't leave enough material for anything more than one 3/8" bolt so I modified the Haban style just a bit so that I can get a ½” bolt in it with plenty of material around it. |
Nice work Sam!

Would you recommend this for my 2284 that has the rear plate already?

The pic is from my 2182 that had the rear plate and was only used for cutting grass before I bought it although as far as I know it was used by a lawn mowing company in commercial service. It was broken when I bought it. All 3 of my Supers will be getting braced. If you have a golf course smooth lawn and if you are nice and easy on it and if you keep an eye on the bolts probably no need. Just keep in mind that the adapter housing is NLA, I looked around yesterday on the web and found a used one for around $120.00. Then you need to pull the rear, do a total disassembly and put it all back together with new seals and gaskets so you be the judge. |
Looks like i'll be getting two when I can afford them!

Did you ever figure out if it will work with the 3pt rear housing brackets?
LOOKING GOOD!! |
