Wow what a clean looking custom engine installation. I will be watching! Very nice pictures too. Yes I like the Cub air cleaner!

That looks awesome. Great job with it so far. :beerchug:

Seems a bit odd to call it an "Original", now that it's as much custom as original. It's definitely a "Custom Original", and a very nice one. Got me chomping at the bit to get my 1650 done now. Just a couple more projects in front of it right now. Getting closer...

Looks great! Can't wait to see it finished!

***white fenders***

Lots of snow today - my son sure wishes he could be plowing with this unit....hopefully soon....maybe next week?
The fenders did go on the other night as planned, but the shop got pretty tore up and it wouldn't have done the 'fenders' any justice to be shooting pics of them in such a mess. My son and I are thrilled about how they look. I was able to get an exhaust manifold put together. It took two tries as the first assembly we threw together the other night was interfering with the grill surround. We added and extension to the muffler and have a little rain cap for it too. We're not sure if we are going to clamp the muffler on or just permanently weld it in place....what are the chances of it ever needing to be replaced anyways... On a recent post, I shoed pictures of a double vee drive pulley we modified to suit the vtwin, giving us two drive ratios by simply unbolting and flipping over. Well, the exhaust ate up the room we needed for it, so it is over at my buddy's machine shop getting parted back down to one. Can anyone guess where the gas tank is going? Hint (last pic). I'm planning to fabricate a custom gas tank from 5" or 6" diameter tubing. ***I NEED YOUR HELP PLEASE*** Can someone with a rear implement lift lever give me reference dimensions from the fender mounting pan to the highest point of the cast lift arm when it is in the raised position? Maybe one horizontal dimension from the edge of the pan to the top edge of the lever and a vertical dimension from the upper lip of the pan to the top of the lever. I need to make sure that the tank doesn't interfere with it as we plan to add one to this tractor (if we could ever find one....) Thanks in advance for your help! |
I hope my project O turns out this nice! The white fenders are growing on me. Thanks for sharing some more awesome pics with us!:beerchug:

Looks fantastic!

Very clean! Is the tank going horizontal inside the back of the grill? On the exhaust I would not weld it on, unless you can still get that entire assembly apart. Your building a custom: the chance may be that you will have to dissassemble at some point to tune something.
I like the white fenders too! Regards, Chris |
