Never a dull moment, is there? Could have been the weather, or it was put on to thick and didn't have a chance to tac between coats.

Well your right, there are always some minor setbacks.
I tried sanding the paint today seemed dry enough. Shot another coat on after warming the garage. Well it didn't like that either. But looks a little better than yesterday. Still may go over it again in the spring. Some progress shots. I did get the rotor in the home position. Just need to get the bolts. I can see that its going to spin real nice, on those new Timken ball bearings! Some shots of other parts that are done. I had the small drive gear on the wrong way, taped out the roll pin and switched the shaft and gear 180.
Tried to by #40 drive chain a NAPA and they would only sell me 10 feet . I did not buy any from them:(
I did get almost all the other parts, cleaned primed and painted. Like u-joints lift rod, cutting edge, bushings, pivot rods, etc....
(Drug another implement in the garage this afternoon will start another thread on that potential project.)

I don't know, but from here it looks pretty good.
I spent the afternoon working on the dash, grinding and welding (my impression of welding) then ran out of wire:angry:

Good for you! Take a break! I like to weld, but thin stuff can be a challenge. That little Lincoln should do a nice job for you. My problem is that I have a hard time seeing. Must be getting old or something?
I put-zed with this junk (are we allowed to say junk?) all day and made a little progress. If I don't do anything else to the paint on the body its going to look way better than it has in 30 years:)

Tractor supply sells chain also in 10' box, prolly cheaper that way than if you went to a hwd or mower shop and bought it by the foot or link.
I never saw it sold in less than 10' unless it was chain saw chain, or for a motor sikkle

I have a mental block on the hardware for some reason:) Did you ever have a portion of a project that you procrastinate on? Well I guess that's mine.
May not do much on this thrower today, except watch paint dry.
I do have one part in the tank getting cleaned, its the star shaped stamped piece that fits over the splines of the drive shaft. Not sure of its function.
In hind site I don't know why I never thought of getting rotor end bearing costs from one of our sponsors. DAH! Or even the local Cub dealer? I saw the part number for those in another thread. I probably paid to much for mine:) That's life, I am using the ones I have which will be good bearings. But the plates are tri lobes instead or round flanges.

The star shaped stamped piece is a spalsh shield/grease retainer per say.
IIRR they have a felt washer between them and the spline or they should have,---- or was that on a old pre war jeep I'm thinking of?

Thanks for the information. I think the felt piece was long gone. Makes sense that this would be kind of a seal retainer for the spline. I will have to check to see If I can find one or something close to it.
Hey this is thrower thing starting to come together slowly.
Some shots as I found parts and got them close to position and or attached.
I may have cleaned and painted the last of the parts for it today. Yippeeee!
