Do you have to change the Privacy settings every time you post a video to YouTube? That site is very difficult for me to understand. Maybe as I use it more it will become easier. Have a great day.

Worked for me. Looks good, Bob.:beerchug:

Finally got to work on my 149 project. Painted the hood and a few more parts. Hood came out pretty nice. Getting ready to put the light assembly together. I have started the tractor a couple times. Have not recharged the battery so the charging system seems to be working OK. Question to the members that have done this. Do you put decals on hood before installing hood or after installing hood? After 4 years, I hope to finish this project this summer if nothing more happens. Could not have gotten this far with out the help of fellow members. Appreciated so much. Attaching a few pictures. Have a great day.

I install the decals once the tractor is all together so I can be sure the decal on the dash lines up perfect with the decal on the hood and also incase the hood were to get scratched during installation. This also gives the paint more time to dry, I recommend waiting at least two weeks before installing decals to avoid them bubbling up because of the fumes coming from the paint as it dries.

Thanks for the info Tim. Will wait a few weeks before putting the decal on. Have a great day.

Looking good so far!

I, too, wait for decals until everything else is done.
I apply them wet--using a spray bottle of water with a couple drops of dish detergent. Wet the hood and the back of the decal. When you apply, the decal can slide a bit to get it perfectly aligned, and then squeegee out the water with a soft rubber squeegee to adhere the decal to the hood. Let dry overnight. You can apply them dry by taping them in place with blue painter's tape, lifting the decal up on the "hinge" of tape, remove the backing and smooth out. It's tough to do this without getting small air bubbles under the decal, so that's why I use the wet method. |

Thanks SawdustDad for the tip on installing the decals. When I am ready, I will try the water method. Have a great day.

149 Engine rebuild
I know this thread is old. I just searched my posts and this was the 1st to come up. I will be 86 1st of Nov. My memory has degraded so much that I can hardly remember posting any of this. I can't believe that I didn't post any completed pictures of the Tractor. Maybe posted them on another thread. All of you members went out of your way to help me. I am still so grateful. I know I don't post much anymore but I still sign on and read most every day.
Thanks to all members and have a great day. Bob |
Do you still use it and how does it run? Got any pics?

Glad to hear that you’re still enjoying wrenching on your cub’s Bob!

149 refurbish
The 149 is in the out building. I start it up every now and then but never use it. My Wife passed away about 3 month ago. Haven't been able to get going since then. I did however buy a cub 1862 at a good price and was delivered for a reasonable price. Has 1500 hours on a non working meter but it runs and sounds good. I am going to let my friend use it at his small farm to cut his grass. He will love that power steering. Have adjusted the brakes(good pads) and sharpened the blades. Just have to put the deck back on. Looks like I have to remove the seat brackets to check the hydro oil. It is not quite lined up where I can remove the dip stick. Will take some pictures and post them as the spirit moves me. Have a great day.

Sorry for your loss Bob.
