Still seems like a good amount of movement in the exhaust pipe. :bigthink:

yeah.. i noticed that too... but I thought it was the vibration playing tricks with the camera!:bigthink:

Nice job Ken! Your turbo project looks real good.

Thanks guys!

yup the camera makes the exhaust look like a wet noodle, it does vibrate, but not that much. ill be making another video soon, with a better camera.

i was thinking about hooking up my trailer and dragging it up the driveway to put a load on it. the trailer weighs 2700lbs empty. :bigthink: hmm, that might be a bit much for the cub tho.

What kind of boost are you getting? This is a link to the video of my tractor at Red Power 7 years ago.

so far i've seen 3psi. only thing i've done with it is what you seen in the video. just cruising around my yard. not really any load. i turned up the fuel a half turn so far.

ive watched your video quite a few times. very nice set up.

found this today. kind of surprised it cracked in the middle of the pipe. im guessing the pipe has some stress built up in it from the bending process. im going to weld it back up and anneal the whole exhaust to releave any other stresses.

Ken,
All is well up here, I even have a diesel to boot! , but I will leave it as it is.

a few updates,

the exhaust continues to crack all over the place even after annealing the whole pipe. after some researching it seems the 16 gauge mandrel bends don't hold up to vibration at all. i found that every one uses "weld els" (industry name) for turbo builds. they are schedule 40, mild steel weld on fittings. walls are .145" thick. ordered me up a few 90s to rebuild the exhaust. here's where i got them from. http://www.aceraceparts.com/collecti...els/mild-steel

i installed a gear reduction starter yesterday. went in fairly well. i was actually able to get the old nose cone out with out lifting the engine out. i really didn't care if i broke it or not so i just got a big pry bar and gave it hell. it popped out of there with out any damage. surprised me! the new gear reduction stater turns that engine over so easy. im mad i didn't do this a while ago.
