When your driving your family in a vw microbus to Thanksgiving dinner at your mother inlaws who happens to live at the top of pikes peak. :biggrin2:

I'd give it some more power just for the fun of it but not to the point it would affect the integrity of the motor.

I don't see how some performance upgrades will hurt the value, if it was something you could see then I'd avoid it but internal mods shouldn't hurt a thing.

I agree 100%. I would not worry about a few internal mods as long as they are done right!

Yeah I think I'm just going to stick with decking the head a few hundreths, relieve the valves a little, and polish the intake port to Smooth it out.

Looks like a nice tractor! :beerchug:

Lew, what are the white brackets sticking out of the back for? Blade?

malchren 09-25-2015 12:04 PM

The white brackets were for a leaf vacuum. I plan on taking them off. I would like to get a sleeve hitch for it as well so if anyone has one under $100 I will buy it :)

I do believe they are for a bagger. I have a set just like those that came with a 1050 I had but I removed them. I was told by the PO that they were for a bagger so that's my best guess :biggrin2:

Well I got the engine out. I pulled the pan and I was right. It did throw the rod. The good news is that it only took a small piece out of the bore. The piston skirt doesn't reach where the break is. So once I have the block stripped down I am going to go over the block with a magnifing glass to see if there are any cracks.

On a side note the red harvest moon eclipse was beautiful. I pulled the engine just as it was starting. :)

Also as a side note. What type of paint was used on the muffler for the cubs? I would like to get the same paint for it. Or atleast the equivalent.
