I find that gasoline is the problem. lubricants, water, diesel all seem Ok. I have known of this for years, so I don't know about the ethanol but that does wreck havoc on all kinds of stuff!

Clay,
New fitting and Teflon tape are in place. and it may leak tomorrow?? I will keep a eye on it. Guy at hardware store said it will work on gas?? In fact he had a yellow version that was $4 a roll but he said the whith was same product? Some shots. After $25 rebuilding the sediment bowl. Also had to take the carb off as I had gas leaking out of that too? Couldn't win . Any way I cleaned it again and set the float which I had forgot to do.:( Larry W, Notice the blaster points:) Regards, Chris |

Plow: Some before shots, then some shots of the parts coming out of the electrolysis, wire brushed, primed, and painted. Might be able to start assembly by Sat.? I put the plow share in the "E" tank for about 4 hours tonight and it was pretty good ( rust was all loose). Lots of black stuff comes off after removing from the tank during first hand wire brushing and water rinse. Then I blow the parts dry and go over them with a stainless steel course wire brush on a 4-1/2 inch angle grinder. Then I wipe them off and prime, let dry and two top coats of white.

Looks good! Its crazy how just getting clean gravity feed fuel to the carb can add up to $25! I hope the teflon works for you. If not try duct tape. Probably dont even have to thread them together with duct tape, lol. Nice PB blaster points too!:biggrin2: :beerchug:

oops, crossed paths, you added plow stuff when I was replying. :bash2: That plow is going to look sweet I can see that already!
YES! More PB blaster, lol. |
Blaster points!
Larry,
Thanks! Plow is coming along. I worked harder at getting the lighting just right on the can of blaster than anything else:) Duct tape to seal gas leaks!! I like how you think. All OCC folks have a great Thanksgiving! From the Casbohm Family |
Great pics, Chris! Thanks for sharing. :beerchug:

100's
Allen,
Do you have those 100's tucked away or will they have to do some winter work? Regards, Chris |
They'll have Winter work. I hope we get some snow, so I can use my blade. Of course, I'll drive them around to keep the batteries charged.

Here are some shots of the plow:
I know I have the beam to clevis in the wrong position, because I couldn't get the plow high enough. I can switch that to the upper hole. That will pivot the plow way up. I had to tighten the adjustment on the lifting motor slip clutch to get it to lift. Other than that and maybe some fine tuning, I think it came out OK. I need to go look at some other folks plow pictures. Question? Do I have the Brinely lower "U" shaped portion, coming off the bottom of the tractor, on right side up or upside down? It has a offset in the tube that the 5/8 pivot bolt goes through. Does the longer portion of that tube go up or down? I have the longer portion up. Regards, Chris |
