johncub7172,
Nice tractor. Nice F100 too! What year is it? I have a '70 F350. Have you ever checked www.fordification.com ? It is about the best place on the 'net for '67-'72 Ford trucks. |
John, your 71 and blade look tough! :beerchug:

Plowed the driveway with my 84" or 7' blade. Works good, although a blade full of the wet snow made the 10 hp talk.
|
darn....you don't screw around...looks like your serious about moving snow....love all the weight hangin off that thing.....you need to make a video.

my local airport called and they are missing their scraper!

Monzaman, I like the looks of that thrower with the yellow auger

I see it, but I don't believe it.......regardless of how many times I see it!!!:biggrin2.gif: Incredible!!!! I like that you think big, and I can appreciate that, but it is bittersweet. I mean after all, I enjoy the seat time that I get on my cubs, but with that blade, my plow time would be all of maybe 5 minutes and 4 minutes of that is putting gas in the tank!!! Great ingenuity...... Great cubs fellows!!!! This thread gets more interesting every day that I look at it!!! Cub Cadet 123 |
Well, its pretty lame after the last set of pics, and I should have dug the camera out before I cleared the drive, but I couldn't resist throwing the PTO in gear once I had it running! So you get a 'after' once it got parked back in the garage pic.
http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t...b/IMG_5801.jpg had 4-6" of snow on the drive along with the city plow wake in the end of the drive, hardly made it grunt.... only time I had to pull back on the hydro control was when I got into the plow wake and got the belt to slip! I do have a poorer cell pic, night shot with the lights on. http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t...ub/Snopic1.jpg |
Nice 147, gadgetman! I bet, you had fun in the snow. :beerchug:

Thanks guys, some of your comments are pretty funny. My arm is still a little sore from lifting it, maybe it will make my arm stronger.

Getting my tractor ready for snow controll means adding more weight. Now I have an extra 70#. And since we are here, had to remove the grote light...was a 6v/30w light, that I could not get any power to. O-well, there is a F-8n 6v to put it on. I bet I will be pushing today! With the Holidays, I will just take off the left headlight and stick it back there. Grote are help. :American Flag 1:

I still need to add some weight and find some tire chains but I've got the blade on.

johncub7172,
I added these side boards when my blade was only 42" wide last year and it worked great, especially for cleaning up random clumps. Once it was loaded, it started to float on the snow and it became harder to push. The neat part is that the blade could still trip since it was held in by the angle iron low on the front of the blade, but yet high in the back, so the boards will lift with the blade. Now, I figured with 84" plow, it maybe too much to push. The side boards do not work as well with wet snow, it is best for dry snow, and this past snow was pretty wet. |
I made a video the day I got my QA36A running. Also installed headlights that same day. I now have built an adjusting handle and bracket for the chute and put on tire chains but don't have a picture.

Finally got enough snow for me to bust out one of the cubs:biggrin2.gif:. Didn't feel it was enough snow for the thrower so the blade it was, only thing is I didn't have any lights on the O'. Made a trip to the local hardware store just to look and found some cheap($5ea.) 12v mini spotlights, decided to get 2 and see how they'd work on the O', as a temporary fix. Worked freakin good, plowed the whole driveway! Was so excited I did it without any gloves and realized it when I was done and my hands were frozen:beer2:

Jude I need a set of those on mine. I have to wait till morning. We have another 6 to 8 inches since noon. but to dark to do it now. I'm going to have to look into those lights, where did you get them? Also I'm glad you finally got a little seat time. You original looks great with a little white stuff on it, hope you get more!

Put the weights on it yesterday, She pushes snow better than my 1282. We got another 8" of heavy lake affect snow and this thing moved as much as I wanted where ever I wanted. Love it, Love it, Love it!!! Think I'm still going to ad fluid to the tires yet. Never know might need it someday.
|
Great snow pics, guys!

I've tried with out chains and got nowhere. |
I've got Deestone 26x12x12's ags on it. Haven't had any problems yet, I have a gravel drive so that helps. Plus I ad about an extra 275 Lbs. when I'm on it so that helps alot to. My drive has a pretty steep hill coming in so I've been pushing down then moving it off to the side at the bottom. I don't get in any hurry either I just putt around at just over idle and it just goes. If we get ice I will probably have to break out the 4 wheeler for the 4 wheel drive but till then I'm going to stick with the cub!
|
Here's the 100 with the power angle blade, chains, 70 lbs of wheel weights, and 63 lbs on the hitch.

Adam,
Who did that exhaust stack for you? I like that you kept the OEM muffler and still have a stack. I like the slant cut at the top also. Nice :) |
