The old '75 F-250 has sadly been scrapped...but, my new cub hauler is a '94 Ford F-150 4x4 with a 300 straight 6 and a 5 speed...very clean truck for its age...

Flatbedford 04-09-2013 09:43 PM

The '94 must feel like a Cadillac compared to the old '75. Too bad you had to let it go though. I'm still holding onto the '70, but I only drive it a few hundred miles a year.

I replace my Suburban with this:

I know what you mean, Steve. I had the truck since I was 15 years old! I shed a few tears the day I took it to the crusher. She was gettin' really tired though...engine had a cracked head, carb needed a rebuild, cab mounts were gone (the typical mid 70's issue), steering box needed rebuilt as well as the clutch/tranny, box was rusted out, etc. And since it was a 2wd I just couldn't justify the cost of fixing it up. I got a quote on it and it was just way too much...so, I picked up this '94 and yes, it's definitely a Caddy compared to the 75, but I love the 75 body style...

Yup, it's another reason I went with the ram, they are the only one that offers a manual trans anymore.

Thanks! ATM (only have like 250 miles on it) I'm getting 18 around here. Also interesting is that they have coil over 5 link suspension in the rear now, rides nice and feels good with the trailer hooked to it:beerchug:

Here is our 'local' cub hauler trailer. Easy to load, but you have to drive slow. Handy for short trips, and not quite 'legal'. It was built to haul our bar mower on the farm. Now since the farm is gone Jon and I use it to move Cubs around.

This is my future cub hauler. It a 85 chevy C20. It has a built 350 pumping out 350 ponys bolted the Muncie 4 speed. It will be beast when I'm done with it!:biggrin2: But now it just sits in my yard waiting for its motor, paint, and spring. The two pics is how I bought it with a smashed front end and one is how it looks now.
