Yea its been couple years since I had mine apart I believe the shaft is just a close fit through the steel housing shouldn't have too much play unless that housing was terribly worn , hopefully the new seals will fix your leak ! Hopefully just too much belt tension and a bad seal !

I'm hoping for the same. I do have some tension on it now. I should back off some. How loose should it be?

Any belt tension moves a shaft to one side of the bearing, be it ever so little.
If a new seal cannot compensate for slight shaft movement, addressing the issue is needed.
A belts needs to be adjusted so it does not slip while the pump is in operation,no more no less, that goes for any belt. :bigthink:

Heres the seal ive ordered local. I'm going give this a try.

Well, I worked on it a little this evening. I put my new 2 seals and backed off the belt tension some and so far it seems to be leak free.
