Thanks guys! Unfortunately I got 50 feet before the auger bolt I had "temporary" used 3 years in a pinch, broke. I will have to pull the auger off to get it out and fix the mess I created. 782 got 6 inches cleared off with ease. I will post some pics later.

Sam, that sucks worse than snow. Got any skates? Lol :biggrin2:

[QUOTE=Shrewcub;475764]Put the seat on. Installed the PTO and got the blower hooked up today. I put the 1864 out back so I can have some room to work inside and out of the wind tomorrow. Getting the plastic on the front may take a little bit of rigging and a lot of shims. It's definitely seen better days.

I did have an issue with the exhaust pipe hitting the heat shield on the blower. For now I bent the shield, but need to bend the pipe as well.

I sent you a FB PM. :beerchug:

The gearbox feels fine. I pulled the auger off today. The inner shaft isn't too bad. This took most of the hit. I'm thinking about redrilling the holes 90° apart. Your thoughts.

Here's my plan to keep asphalt milling chunks from ruining my life from now on. I cut a piece of oil drum out today to make a skid plate for the blower. It's only .105" thick so I may double it up. I don't want anything but snow to enter the blower. The ground is never frozen when we get snow.

I would drill new holes 90 degrees from those and then I'd weld a patch over the old holes.

Stick a snug fitting bass/copper bar in the auger where the shaft goes, then weld the wallowed hole shut and re drill it.
slide the brass out and install.:beerchug:
Watch what you feed the auger, make sure it it vegetarian :biggrin2:

Good idea except that the hole for the shear pin is in the middle of the auger. More work that it's worth. :beerchug:

Hope you get it fixed up proper as more snow is coming.

I fixed the auger today. I found a 4 way tire wrench, that after a little grinding, fit perfectly inside the auger shaft. I was able to hammer most of the damage out. I put a piece of copper pipe inside and welded the rest. I think my $100 harber freight welder almost paid for itself.

Thanks for the idea George.:beerchug:

Edit: Lew,you can keep the snow. We only got more rain, I mean mud.
