Absolutly! If everyone was as good of a friend, person as you the world would not be in the shape it in today!! I hope your friend knows how good of a friend he has in you. My buddys long term girlfriend had ALS, and the woman I consider a second mom has dimentia, I am not sure wich is worse. Dimentia, your body still functions but mind is not all there, 87 and she acts like 7 and dont know her own(biological) kids or how to dress her self. ALS the body shuts down but mind stays sharp so you know whats going on but trapped in a body you cant control or even scratch an itch.

Dont have many friends for 30+ yrs. He medically retired last month, been thru many tests and after MRI gave him the diagnosis. I have seen it before, saw my auto shop teacher @a store one day-he had no clue who I was-his wife explained his conditon.
Have a guy from school who has it-in a matter of months he faded, still alive now but like a child. Had his own heat/ac service. Read somewhere it may overtake heart disease as #1 killer soon.
Told me yesterday he was donatng his body to the med center.
