The shop I work for charges $60 dollars an hour plus parts and materials for restoration. I've only restored 1 cub for a customer who shipped it all the way from texas. When it was all said and done he had about 6000 in it not including shipping both ways. The tractor came to us in very poor shape with several missing or unusable parts. The tractor is used solely as a tug to move around his private planes. Once all the pieces were found everything was sand blasted and epoxied so I could start on body work, after the body work was complete I primed it and then dry sanded the primer to reprime it, this ensures its poker straight. Once it was dry I wetsanded it and painted it base/clear with 4 coats of clear, every smooth piece was wet sanded and buffed including the frame and wheels. It is probably the straightest and smoothest cub on the planet and about 100x nicer than it was when it left the factory. That's actually the complaint we here the most from people at show ' it never looked that nice new' or ' its to shiny ' and I say if that's your only complaint then I guess I did good.

I guess the moral of the story is that this guy may very well have 3250 into that tractor if he paid someone else to do it because people don't work for free, his only fault is that whoever did it wasn't a cub guy and missed some of the details
