Just ordered a set of the 1.5" Sunpro guages from summit and a copper line kit for my 2182.
Sam do you have any pictures of how and where you hooked these up? I haven't received the actual kit to see how complete or incomplete it will be for this type of application. Jon |

These pics are from a 2182 and a 1641. I screwed up and used the wrong size hole saw and that's why I had to use the mounting panel that comes with the kit that you see in the first pic. You'll have to drill and tap the water manifold for the temp sender. Pull the thermostat out and stuff the area that you'll be drilling into with some wet towels to catch the chips. Oil pressure is easy just a tee fitting. Last pic is the 1641, it only has oil pressure and a voltmeter but you can see from the back side where the gauges come through the dash tower. |
I used this setup for my Vanguard. Sending unit is just 2 wire hook up; 1 for signal, 1 for ground. 0-80 psi
Matching gauge is a 3 wire hook up; 12V, ground, and signal from transmitter. 2-1/16" mounting hole - same as the hole in a 782 dash. I prefer the wired unit to the plastic tube. Concerned about leakage/tube rupture. All VDO components. http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/p...pictureid=6431 http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/p...pictureid=6432 http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/p...pictureid=6433 |
