OK, you will pull the lever down far enough to rotate the lever holder up and over it. Once the holder is over top of the lever let the lever rest up against the holder. This is what holds it so you can push it around.

if you look in my pics, you can see where I switched out my manual valves to the auto release ones. My "flapper" was broke off, and I got a lucky buy on ebay on a set. Something you may want to consider.
|
I also switched to the auto release valves, when I had my 1250.

Good pics! If you want to switch out to the automatic type check out the link from the tech section of the site. The price has gone up a little but it's still cheaper then any others I've seen for sale.

i would start with pulling off the fenders and seat. checking the trunion and underneath at the linkages from the control lever to the trunion. if the control lever is moving the trunion back and forth like it should then its time to dive in a lil deeper.
|
also wanted to let you guys know i had gotten the trunion slots welded up and springs replaced. the hydro fluid and filter replaced. now this baby has got some snap too her. and no more accelerating or deccelerating up or down hills. thanx everyone for the advice.
