Cooking with wire

Yes this was one stupid mistake! Probably wont be my last though:) Went out and bought some stuff to start redoing the wiring, again.
I have pulled some good ones over the years this one ranks right up there! Off to see how others are doing. Regards, Chris |
Rebuilding the rebuild.
More later. Should have the damages tallied by end of week. Real nice fall day out there. Should be out mowing grass for the last time with the 127. Regards, Chris |
Chris, it's happend to all of us, well I know it's happend to me more than once. Take a look at my 100 face lift, I'm going to update shortly, I wish all I had going on was a wire problem right now.
But from what you've been through already, this wiring glitch will be a walk in the park. Good luck! |
Todd,
I am going to find your post and review your progress. I have been buying new parts and rebuilding others and getting new wiring and connectors. This mistake I made destroyed the wire harness from the selinoid to the starter and to the voltage regulator. Destroyed the VR and I had to have the SG rewound. All in all it will be about a $200 boo-boo:( I have not started building the new harness yet. I mowed with the 127 last night till about 8:00. Tonight I stopped to see the granddaughters and on the way home got a call for the grandson Nic. He just arrowed a nice 120 lb button buck. So we spent some quality time getting that quartered and in the fridge. Hope to get a little time on the 147 this weekend. Regards, Chris |
The 147 awaits!
I have been too busy to get back to this project for that last few days. Deer hunting, deer processing, watched the granddaughters today, extracted 15 gallons of goldenrod honey last night, loaded wood. Did check the amp meter that I thought was bad and it seemed to at least show discharge on another tractor, so I did get that installed back int he 147. May get a couple minutes tonight. Hope things are good in Cub land! Regards, Chris |

1. Guess I have to clean and test my grounds. After new wiring installed correctly this time, I believe. I still am not getting a positive read on the Amp meter. although the amp meter shows discharge when the lights are on.
Anyway more work in that area. 2. Some shots of the exhaust reposition work. Note the last picture is the first position of the exhaust which seemed to close to the hood. Also while the engine was out I welded up the wear in the drive coupling slots. 3. I am still learning how to adjust the Hydro to stop creep. on a 147 this has to all be done from under the tractor. (cant remove the tunnel) 4. I have to get the brakes adjusted first. Have about 1 hour run time on the engine sounds strong. Regards, Chris |
Chris that stack looks a lot better now. Your decals are safe now! You'll get all the bugs worked out of it. Looking forward to your progress.

Great pics, Chris! Hopefully, you can get us a vid of it running. :biggrin2:

Allen,
Not sure I have the tecnology to do that? But I will try. How would that have to get posted? I dont have a clue on that. I can barely get antique Cubs back together:) Regards, Chris |
