You will have to make the hole in the dash bigger if you want to use round stock, theres no way a third one will fit.

I got the handles done today, I used chrome powder coat and they came out great and look factory. the hydro lever is still the factory chrome and the powder coat matches pretty good. i got the lines ran to the rear ports but i will have to pick up some more line tonight so i can do the front ports tomorrow, with any luck i will have it all back together tomorrow.

That looks great Tim. One of my friends has taken lots of his bug stuff the local powder coat guy because real chrome is wicked on the wallet. I like how the chrome powder comes out personally.

Very nice job Tim. Does it cost any more to do the chrome instead of a solid color?

DieselDoctor 09-25-2016 08:39 AM

I like it! How much surface preparation did you have to do?

Yes, the chrome is a two step process. I have to put the chrome on and put it in the oven and then put the clear on and run it in the oven again, the chrome has to have the clear coat or it won't last. i think the chrome powder coat would be a great for guys restoring cubs with chrome lift handles.

i fired it up for the first time about 10 minutes ago and surprisingly there's no leaks.:biggrin2: now i just have to button up a few things and it will be ready for a test drive.

Rescue11 09-25-2016 10:48 PM

It got it all together and even got to mow with it, I've missed mowing with this tractor and it's nice to have it running again. The total for this project is about $175 but that's still cheaper than a 2 spool cub valve.

Your going to need his custom 3pt too, or won't be able to pick anything up but grass and leaves. :biggrin2:

Looks great BTW!! :beerchug:

Unfortunately, you are not wrong. HOWEVER, im wanting to offer a rockshaft upgrade that will allow more liftpower travel and an optional independent lift for all the folks that already have an oem, or repro hitch.

ACecil 09-26-2016 10:12 PM

That's one sharp tractor, Tim!
