So I'm new to this, my next question may be obvious to everyone else but here goes, I am assuming we stay with the recommended tire pressure? Which by the way seems low? I have a 682 with a Haban42 single stage blower (did not come with the tractor so don't have real history with this machine) and I notice when the blower is lifted the front tires are pretty "squashed", not dangerous looking but noticeable.
Thoughts? Thanks, Vic |
When running the snowblower, I run my front tire pressure at 30 PSI. :beerchug:

Same here. Lower it for running the blade.

Wow! Really, good to know, so next newbie question what about the rear tires on this set up, I have 73# wheel weights on each side and that cab I built which I would think goes somewhere around 100#? The recommended 10# (I think) sounds kind of low also?
Thanks, Vic |
on my 982 I have loaded tires and wheel weights that add up to 600lbs

Well on my 1050 blade machine, I run chained turf tires filled with whatever liquid came in them when I got them plus I'm about to put a set of rear weights on her, too. Oh, and don't forget my 200+ pound fat a$$ :biggrin2:
Being my first year with a blower and limited Cub parts for right now, my 682 with the blower has...me for weight. I don't expect it to have too much traction trouble but worst case I add a set of weights to it. |
Where I could move fine with a blade on the front, with a blower it barely could move. So much weight off the rear with the blower mounted. Expect to add something back there. Or always be running in blower cleaned ground. oh and no uphill blowing. At least that was my experience. My 230lb ballast butt just was not enough..

Fill the tires and add as many wheel weights as you can to it. When it comes to weight some is good, more is better and too much is just right.:beerchug:

Thanks for all of the input, and sorry Bocephus for pinching in on your post. Like I said the blower didn't come with the tractor, came from a guy with a 782D that couldn't hardly get up the small hill in his blacktop drive, maybe 3' in 50'? With the haban single stage blower on the front and weight (just not enough I guess) so he found a 2 stage blower that weighed considerably less that he put on his Diesel. Think someone else mentioned that the weight of the blower is so much that it takes weight of the traction wheels. My drive is flat so I am hoping that I will get by with what I have, if not I have ways of adding it to the rear.
Thanks, Vic |
Cub 75# weights on each tire outside, IH weights 25# inside each tire, + around 50# of sand/salt in spreader. 250# + my big BU&%, and Chains.
