Installing the floor board sheet metal in it's stock form was going to be a major pain because of the changes I've made to the stock battery location and the pedal box area. So to simplify the whole situation I split the floor board right down the middle of the driveshaft hump. I machined a piece of 6061-T6511 with a .125" divider in the center and drilled and tapped ten 1/4-20 holes for button head bolts. Now either side can be removed independently of the other.

The split floor board worked great for making the modifications needed. I changed the tie rod ends on the power steering cylinder to stronger Honda Civic tie rod ends and the mounting system had to be radically changed. So access to the rear mount of the power steering tie rod end had to be from above with the FEL sub-frame below it. All modifications were easy to accomplish with the smaller floor board half. I will definitely split the floor boards of all of my 3000's.
