How did you secure the hoods without marring the paint?

I've used ratchet straps, like Tim, with protection under the strap. I've also used bungee cord. This last haul was a cyclops and I used the bungee on the plastic hood and side panels.

Picked up some additional, smaller ratchet straps and secured the 123, 1000 and 1450's hoods using old Tee shirts as chafe protection. Still need to tape the exhausts. Removed all the ignition keys. Topped off air in all the tires and the spare, put the impact wrench in the tool box. I think I'm ready!

Thanks again for the advice. I'd have been totally bummed out if I'd bent the hoods...

Completed the trip with zero issues. I did have a seat flip up, so I put a bungee cord on it. Here's the trailer unloaded and the Cubs lined up and ready to go.

Hope they (and you!) are staying dry up there!

Getting heavy rain tonight, 4 to 6 inches expected, with winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 50. Lost power about 20 minutes ago, the propane powered Generac has picked up the slack and is keeping us comfy. No A/C but lights, reefer, TV, etc. all working. Nothing like you guys down in NC got last month or the Panhandle got last night. So we'll weather this one fine I think.

We got the wrath of Michael last night.. lots of rain and 50 mph wind.. fortunately not much damage.. we spent the day Wednesday moving stuff inside and tying things down.. so we were somewhat prepared.. they said we may get 75 mph winds but it didn't happen thank goodness..

Those poor people in the FL panhandle and extreme southern Ga got hammered though.. Some even lost EVERYTHING... sending prayers out for them.. they have a long road ahead of them!
