Ironman I've gone back and forth between sets of holes and to tell you the truth I can't see where it does anything different.

I welded on the arm that runs up to the rockshaft at a slight angle to the arms running to the deck to raise the front of the deck. This is the only pic I can find that shows the angle. I also added a belt guide to keep the belt from flying off.

At this point I'm thinking the belt will not stay on because of the severe angle of pulley. Mind you it came off with just be turning the blade by hand, not by the machine running. Thanks for your response.

Thank you R Bedell for this link. Do you know if the Eye hooks shown on the front of my mower deck are original? In the manual it shows a different hardware. Not sure if they've changed from year to year or if someone just cobbed it up at one time or another.:BangPC:

IMO - The "Eye" hooks do not look original.

Adam, I like your belt guide mod. I'm surprised that it wasn't something IH would have done considering the length of that PTO belt. One on each side wouldn't hurt.

As Roland stated before.. you have the wrong mule drive hanger on it.. I'm pretty sure the quick attach mule drive hangs lower in the front than the bolt on mule drive hanger that fits the 70-123.. I'm not where I can measure one at the moment.. I will try to look and measure later today

Beat you to it Jay, they are the same, BTDT.
This is incorrect and prolly holding your rear up, this should be slotted like the other side and should be in the front holes.

:IH Trusted Hand:

I was trying to look at two of my machines to compare them. I agree with this assessment.

Roland upon looking at this manual in depth more I've come to the conclusion that it's not the one I have for the 100. Unless they are so close they only do one manual. The one that I have has a cast nose section ( with no front roller ) and the left and right end tips are also cast bolted on pcs.

I tried unsuccessfully to find where you got that link from to see if there was another that fits the description above better. Still wondering if them eye bolts at the front of the deck are correct. The leading edge of the front of the deck also scallops up a couple of inches across the front.
