thanks for replies, I also like threads with lots of pictures.

got a pulley mounted on the driveshaft; plan to drive this hydraulic pump. still a lot of work get it going.... but it's a start. it will power the hydraulic hoist, steering and snow plow if all goes as planned. got the hydraulic steering setup of Ebay, seller said it came off an 1864.

the axle "beam" is heavier for sure. but everything else has got to be stronger. with the center axle pivot gone and wider width, I think it will be more stable carrying a load. each tire payload is 975 lbs.

still no steering yet....

Looks nice! Please keep the pics coming.

mounted steering cylinder in non-standard location, (i'll have to modify snow plow mounting later)

Also had some difficulty, but got orbital valve and steering shaft in it's mounting location. still need to make a couple mounting brackets and modify steering column housing/bushing.

SO...... how do you plan to keep all 4 tires on the ground with no pivot on the front axle??

Is it just me or is there a flying rat rod trying to escape your shop?:bigthink:. You have a very impressive work space. That car lift is awesome! AND the Cub lift is pretty slick. Thanks for the pictures.

I like the idea of the solid front axle. I have no idea how much weight and how high you want to carry it but whatever, it will make the tractor more stable than if you had a pivot.
