It does look really nice and the 3 point about $500.00 new the rear pto is very rare and probably expensive, nice boots on it but still the onan motor needs rebuilt don't have any idea on that. A repower for a briggs is about $1600. dual hydraulics, I saw a valve and lines going for $300. on epay the tractor what $800-$1000 offer him $1200. see what happens. My way of thinking is if you want something bad enough you have to be willing to pay. There is no doubt somebody that knows better pricing or closer figures and values these are just some examples of what I've seen. Edit olds44512 you posted yours while I was still typing looks like were pretty close on some of the numbers.

I do think that is a little too high for it. That is an MTD built machine, not that it would matter to me. Are you going to get it?

I paid $600 for an IH machine with bad paint, rough seat, flat tires, 3pt hitch, 60" Haban, no battery, would not run. I put $6-700 into it in hydro repairs, steering components, belts, battery, tubes, switch, gas cap, carb kit, voltage regulator, complete new driveline, etc. Wouldn't take $2k for it. The price I paid for it dould have been recovered in parts value if the engine was bad.

Mike, that frame tag looks like the wide ones used by MTD and not the 1" ones by IH. The rear hitch should be red if it came that way but it could have been added and it looks like the front axle is black in the last pick if you look at the right rear brake caliper. The lower dash panel and front axle were red on the IH machines.

Here is an IH one. Much smaller. You can spot them from aways off

I've looked at that one too. I want a 982 yes. But with it needing a motor rebuild/replacement it's not worth it for $1900. He's firm on the price too.

:biggrin2:.....You guys don't recognize that cub? It belongs to one of our forum member (or past forum member), though I haven't seen him on here for a while. He left when Conner (mrcubcadet) left. It is AJ Gross's cub. Look in the background at all of his other red ones. He knows his red cubs quite well and knows what they are worth, that is why he is firm on his price. Looks like he still has a surplus in his collection. Here's to our old friends. Hope you are doing fine AJ....:beerchug:
