yeah I looked at it because I may have to upgrade mine, and it didn't look right!
we'll see how it works after I get the alt upgrade done.

I don't see a reduction starter listed under "Cub Cadet Diesel" on Ebay so I did a search on the part # Todd M. did on his original conversion (Kubota 37560-63011 or 37560-63012) and came up with this.

I believe this is the correct starter we need on the D600's & D640's. Is that correct? Sorry, I didn't intend to give out the wrong information again.:bash2:

The starter on the left is the gear reduction starter.

Earl congrats on the smoker acquisition. I did the glow plug upgrade on the 1572 using a starter solonoid and the 12 volt plugs . The old gal fires right off. Maybe when the original starter takes a dump I will think about upgrading the starter.

Thanks guys, I have yet to start on this one. I still haven't finished the 126, I am genuinely hoping to get to it in the next week or two. Once I get it finished I'll hop on the 782d..maybe. I was kind of thinking to do some mods to the 125 so I could rob the hydraulic pump of it for the 126.. fun stuff..

Is this the correct starter for the gear reduction upgrade for sure? I am ready to order one and do the upgrade since I'm going to pull the motor to clean it up and change the gaskets all around. This machine has been sitting a while and I am sure the gaskets are a bit, shall we say dilapidated. Once I get it up and running I want no leaks in the yard/garden/fields. Also does anyone have a source or number for the gaskets? I think I just need the oil pan, valve cover, etc.. Pretty much everything but the head gasket..

Unless your starter doesn't work at all...... I wouldn't buy one until you know the motor is good. No reason to spend the cash just yet unless your starter is bad.
