Welcome to OCC! Nice looking 109!
|
Didn't cub cadet have an outsourced muffler called a noise suppression muffler? Looked just like the 169 muffler but a little different...I've seen a few on ccspecialties and cub cadet warehouse
|
Do you have a genuine Cadet/Kohler muffler or is it a cheap aftermarket replacement? I've never considered these engines to be loud.

Thanks, it is a great machine, appreciate the response!

Thanks! Just got it going four years ago, it was sitting in the barn under tarps.

It is the original muffler I think, I just rebuilt it four years ago, it was in a barn under tarps, my GF said it had been there for about 6 years sitting.

If you really want to quieter it down look at some newer style JD mufflers if you can get one to sit in that area and rout the exhaust piping to it I think it would be alright. I just wouldnt want to restrict it to much

All I can say is don't buy the cheapo ones off eBay. I got one for my 107 and it is the loudest tractor I have even over the 149 and its muffler isn't even tight on the exhaust pipe.

Ear plugs. To heck with the noise and the neighbors. :biggrin2:
