Head Gasket

:biggrin2:Thanks guys ... I did get the head off and cleaned up and back on this weekend the weather was getting bad so I could not take any pictures but I did find a lot of carbon buildup around the valves and on piston . My piston is at 30 thousand with no movement so I am hoping that the exhaust valve was the problem. I will get the head all torqued up on Monday, and a few more parts on order for the 102. It seems each time I look at the cub more and more parts go on order. But that's the fun of it :bigthink: Hope you guys have a good week.

Looks like a really solid 102 crewdog. I hope on your parts list you have included the side tin on the S/G side that is missing to help assist with the cooling of the engine and may prevent having to replace another head gasket. Glad that 102 is getting that extra TLC that you are giving to it.

When we removed the drive shaft from my 102 and showed a pic of it on here and the comment was it looked more like a cam shaft than a drive shaft and the crazy thing was it still worked, noisy but it worked.

That is a nice looking 102 .Lights are a plus, and so is the seat.
Are you getting a heat shield for it?
It has to be one that is slanted downwards on the left or it will hit the grill casting.

Head Gasket done

Well after a 30 Foot Pound TQ its all done. I have all the engine tins for cooling, I just had them off for the head gasket install. Once the weather get a little better and two gaskets form Chris Westfall I will test it out. Take care guys and stay warm and dry.

throttle cable install Help

5 Attachment(s)
Hello guys well I would like to start on a good note I got the 102 fired up and no white smoke so that's a very good thing which means no rebuild. I just install a new throttle cable that was not on my 102 . I think its install it right but each time you move it up its not working right. What am I doing wrong ? Am I missing a holder on the motor. Any help with this matter would be great. Thank you again

You're missing another bracket that holds the throttle cable that mounts to the same bolt as the existing one see between coil and carb. It hangs down vertically from that existing one only vertically
