I took it for spin last night when I got home and tried the deck out and I think this one will be sticking around for a while (once I get the butter knife dull blades sharpened, that is) :beerchug:

Way to go!! It looks to be in very good original condition. I've had 4 or 5 129's, but there is just something about the simplicity of the NF's that I like....perhaps its the time they came out, the 60's and early 70's that makes them appeal to me, not for sure why since I wasn't even born then. Nonetheless, it looks like it has been well kept and will serve your needs for many years--especially with that 14hp engine!
BTW: The holes in the hood look like they were to mount something....perhaps a radio or even a tv!!! The radio is understandable, but the tv might make your mowing lines appear to be as curvy as Mae West!! I know a guy in Florida who has a tv mounted on a mower, which to me would be like a tv set on your wedding night--unnecessary. Did you ask the PO about it? Maybe the strange bracket on the front undercarriage is a clue to follow up on for the holes in the hood!

Aside from the dirt and grime on the motor and undercarriage, she has been kept up pretty well. I think the carb needs adjustment for the high rev because when she's at full throttle, unless the 14hp Kohlers are screamers, she seems like she's running a bit high for rpm's. And since it's a newer motors than what they put in the 149's, it didn't have the bolt hole for the exhaust to mount to so the guy made a mount for it, I'll have to post up pics of that later.
And that's a good thought on the holes, they just might be for a radio, the PO was a farmer so who knows.

Good trade! Of course, I'm partial to wide frames...........tractors, not girls. :biggrin2:
It's got a newer replacement engine, so that's a plus. Did ya take your new furry friend home with you?

And I wish I could have taken Larry with me but I live technically in city limits so that'd be a close one. Plus my dog would probably endlessly harass the little guy :bash2:
