Regardless of whether or not the bucket soak works, it'd be better to try that first instead of just removing the jet first, which is fragile and easy to break. Not to mention it's also probably NLA or very expensive if it is still available new. Why take the risk if it's not needed?

congrats , you got buy and the holes were not pluged on your 40+ carbs. :beerchug:

Ive been rebuilding carbs for years. from garden tractor carbs to auto Q-jets and carters AFB & WCFB carbs. and even all the junk stuff like holley & edelbrock.
if I had to guess a # of carbs Ive rebuilt 100s and a # of how many came clean with out pulling it 100% apart. dont know. ive never cut corners on a rebuild.

yes the carb dip is awesome stuff. and it works. but its still oil based so I also soke parts in lacquer thinner for a short time to flush it and take out any varnish the dip didnt get out..

here is the last Q-jet I restored. mods done to it to get 800cfm , zinc plated, ethanol safe gaskets.

Congrats on getting her running! You will have a lot of fun with your 122! It really doesnt take much to get these old girls running. :beer2::beerchug:

And Why is it that it always turns into a pissing match between certain members. Clearly, everyone has different opinions. Everyone has different techniques and their own solutions. "Can't we all just get along?" Haha :beerchug: Com'on Man!
