The seller looks like he wants to clean up his yard. Is the sellers name Dave?
If so you should be able to get a good deal.Just my 2ยข And of course we need pics of your score... |
Here's my .02
First, its worth whatever you are willing to pay for it. If you want it bad, you'll pay the $200. There are tractors in the past that I have bought simply because they had good tires, or had a good engine and the rest of it was junk. So, I shot them an offer and we made a deal. But there has been a few tractors where I have paid full price for because I knew I really wanted them... Second, a rule of thumb IMHO...if you can't hear it run, see it move under it's own power, or it dosent have any attachments...$200 is all you give. If it has a 3pt or weights or whatever, offer a little more. At 200 bucks, you know very well that your investment can be returned by parting it out or selling it. Thats just simple rules of business!:biggrin2: |
Looks like a good deal to me. Good luck!:beerchug:

I agree about how you should price a non runner. But, one of the things I always tell my kids is not to get caught up in what I call auction fever, when you get caught up in the chase. You need to have, what for you would be a fair, but maximum figure in mind and work your way up towards your final offer. When you get to that point, make sure you tell them it is your final offer. Don't be afraid to put the money back in your pocket, turn and walk away. Can't tell you how many times the seller has changed their mind as we were getting back into the truck.
Good luck. MikeC |
That was/is exactly my plan, I am only going to bring my max $ I am willing to pay when I go. If he says more, then I walk away. I have no emotional attachment to it, it is just another Cub tractor. :beerchug:

Sounds like a good deal. Hope you get it. :beerchug:

cory, that one is a deal compared to the 123 I saw this morn. I was on way home from looking at another 147, (somebody slap me, i bought it,:bash2:) and saw this 123 sitting in a row of junk, I pulled in an looked at it. at min would need all tires, they were rotten. a seat, it was to. and had rusted holes in the deck. I talked to the guy and he wanted 300 firm:bigeyes:, i offered 100 and about got thrown off his place.:BB&YS: pic isn't very good.
on the up side the 147 i got is in fair shape, needs mule drive repair, muffler and steering has 1/2 turn of play but i can fix that.:beerchug: for this one I paid the asking price. |
i am new here but not new to cub cadets.
jdroison offered the right starting price of $100 and for my money i would not go over $200. my 2 cents Dan |
OK time for me to go on a rant. The guy that owns it is asking $250.00 but you stars are saying offer him next to nothing. Get real it’s worth more than $250 if you parted it out. Some of you geniuses need a reality check. I got sucked into the “Super” crap last year and like a jerk went out and bought 3 of them, spent a ton of money on them and now I get clowns that think they should be able to buy them for ten cents on the dollar. The engine and hydro alone are worth more than what the guy is asking.
