Got it tore down a little further today, hopefully I can work on it some more this evening. Today I took of the seat, S/G, battery, engine control cables, air cleaner, gas tank, and some wiring.

Good job! Thanks for the pic and update.

Coming right along! Just a thought, but have you thought of just cutting that monstrosity of an exhaust off close to the block and using a pair of channel locks to take the last of it out of the block? Cant wait to see this one finished!

Don't worry, the exhaust is coming off. It is too rusted on for channel locks, but a 4 ft pipe wrench is in order.

Today I got almost all the exhaust off, the wiring harness, the Voltage Regulator, some engine tins, and a few other things.

The 4 footer seemed to do the trick. All except one piece that is threaded into the block, which it won't fit on because it is so close to the block. So a small wrench with a piece of pipe should work.

And, Thanks

I think the last thing I would want is a 6 foot pipe wrench on an exhaust pipe of a K-161. If you need that, you've got bigger issues...

Anyway, nice job on the Original. Looks like it will be a fun project for you.
