Around these parts, if it already in the scrap yard theres no chance of recovery. Scrap yards will not let you buy whats in their yard.
Thats not always a good thing as I have seen lots of reusable machines in the scrap piles. |
at this yard the guy has a (looks like a) 200x200' area for stuff he can save and sell. it looks like a flea market. there is go karts , mowers, cars, steel plate and so on.

Were is this scrap yard? :)
I need a cultivator! |
I can hear it now "Oh Honey I got rid of those big old metal things you never used today "
|
Once things hit the scales here in nashville thats the end of it. The yard wont let you buy it from them and to rub it in your face, they crush it as soon as its unloaded. In fact they have had law suits agianst them for crushing trucks people drive up in to unload and the operators pick up truck and all and throws it in the pile. If im lucky enough i save things from the crusher but can save it all though.

Up the road from there is a set of disks and 2 cultivators. I havent stopped to ask what the guy wanted. Can anyone give me an idea of what I may pay for stuff like that. I really have no use for them, as I have a troybuilt. But, if the price is right...?

The difference between SCRAP and CRAP is only the S. That is how most scrap yards look at everything they take in but without the S.:beerchug:
