i was out in the garage studying and i found that the diagram the AJ posted has the relay being pn 725-1375 and the info roland sent has the relay being pn 725-3040. can i use either? i already have 1375. the diagram on the sides of the relays are slightly different. the box with the diagonal line thru it has what looks like a bypass around it on the 1375 where as the 3040 does not have this line. other than that, everything else is the same. i hope you guys understand what im saying, i am very simple when it come to electronics.

thanks again, jon

As long as it's a 5 pin relay with all the same numbers, it should work.

A 4 pin relay will not work!

thanks everyone. i ended up taking the relay to advance and picking their heads. ends up the line i was wondering about on the schematic represents a resistor. they said both relays are the same, just a different pn and schematic.

RELAY UPDATE.... The 725-3040 ------> 925-3040 is now No Longer Available from Cub Cadet.

The 725-1375 -----> 925-1375 is a suitable replacement.

Best as I can see, both were made by Bosch and using the same terminal configurations. I am only speculating, that the only difference maybe the contact rating of the internal points.

Thus, you can use the 925-1375 and wire it the same as to the diagram that was sent to you.

:ThumbsUp:

Cub wants a arm and a leg for their relays. I always go to napa and ask for a 5 pin relay. Here are some part numbers:

Mag Relay AR201 or ECH AR272, ECH AR143
Relay Harness 9185 or ECH EC38

Of the ones AJ listed, this is the best match. It has a Mounting Tab...ECH AR143

I have used the one Roland posted...it was only like $5 or something like that.

If you get it at the auto parts store, have them look in there book and get you a one piece plug for it....most I have seen come with short pieces of wire preattached to it, you just have to add more wire to it to put it in the tractor. They aren't expensive and make the wiring job look much more porfessional over the alternative of having 4-5 separate wires attaching to it, plus if you ever need to replace the relay, you simply unpulg it and plug in the new one!
