Hey Guys, newbe here. Been reading for awile and thought it was time to get in and see if I was excepted with my tractors, being new ones and all:biggrin2.gif:
I have a 1330, 1110, basket 1610 and 1720 for parts, and what I did yesterday with my cubs was try and get the back wheels off the 1110 (rusted tight) so that I could finish the overhall. I've painted the tin and front wheels and refurbished the frame so far but can't get those darn rear wheels off. Next step will be the heat wrench, but I just hate to bring that thing out if I don't have to. I've been oiling them up for over three weeks and nothing, well the left one came off, but still the right one will not give up.
Then when thats done the engine comes out for some new gaskets and we're on to the next one. This cub addiction is greaaaaat!

Those rear wheels are a horrible design...I've had to torch them off before. Put grease on the axle before you put them back on so you don't have to deal with that again. Why they didn't do that from the factory, I'll never know.

The pulley that is on Sminkey's engine is way bigger than any of the PTO pulleys that were on any of my Originals. True, the one he is holding is too small, but it is closer in size to the ones I had, than the pulley that is on the engine now.

Taking the top of the deck apart and doing as I said in my previous post will do wonders for the 'still turning slowly' issue. It worked on the 3 decks I made functional.

Only disagreeing because with the larger pulley on there is to much tension on the belt(which is correct size) and the idle pulleys are adjusted as far as they'll go. With smaller pulley the idle pulleys are set in the middle with what feels like proper belt tension. And seems Wild Bill has some serious experience, kinda hard not to listen to em':beerchug:

You're just trying to help, I appreciate that:beer2:. But now I'm a little confused as if either pulley I have is correct? What is the diameter of the pulley you guys have? Thanks:biggrin2.gif:

Cub 123/#1 Tiller

Only had a couple of hours to "play" this evening. I put a wire brush on my bench grinder and brushed several parts off of the #1 tiller. Sprayed them with primer, then shot a light coat of paint on them. Hung them to dry.

Some day soon, this #1 tiller will look like new again! Luckily, it is all in good condition, and it came with a straight, good-shape cover over the pulley, unlike so many others I've seen.

Looking better all the time!!

I'm trying to land a #1 tiller on craigslist, not sure if it has pulley guard or not, will see. Would love to see some pics of you're tiller:beerchug:

New Seat Pan and broken bolt removal...

3 Attachment(s)
I just got my "new" seat pan today and put it on my Original. Some before and after pics for ya's. 3rd pic is of my 71, which had a broken off bolt head on seat spring bracket. Little PBlaster and good ol channel locks got it out, took right fender off too. Gonna see if I can bang out the dents myself:Wave:

If you'll click on "Community", then "Pictures and Albums", you'll see an album I just loaded. Some of the picks show the tiller. I'll try to add some close-ups of the tiller tomorrow.

Well I finally think the 1250 is up and ready for service. Finally got the correct spark plug wire on it and rode it around all morning. The yard didn't need mowing so I kind of got carried away trimming some of the wifes weeds, ermm I mean flowers, and well see for yourself. I also got carried away with the garden spot and cleaned it up with the 1250 too. It's been a great morning.

Former "flower" Spot.. LOL
