I taught high school chemistry and biology for 38 1/2 years. Now I work at fixing things at church, our church camp, and my three kids homes. I've also been the 4-H electric project leader for 20 out of 29 years of being a 4-H leader.

USCG licensed Chief Engineer, unlimited horsepower, unlimited tonnage, any waters. Working in the Gulf of Mexico on an offshore supply vessel the size of a football field. Semi-retired; working 14 days on/28 days off.

I have ready every single post... wow, almost an hour later... I am impressed with the diversified bunch on the OCC family. Really cool!

For my day job, I co-own a Plumbing, Trenching, HVAC/R business with my dad. I'm the hvac sales, service, install guy. I do a decent amount of plumbing, trenching and backhoe work also.

In the early morning, evenings, on weekends, and at times during the week days, Dad and I help grandpa farm 800 acres with a 50 head cattle operation.

I am also a 24-7, 365 volunteer firefighter/emt. The calls rarely come at a convenient time. :biggrin2:

In 1970 I went to tech school to learn how to talk to those magical machines called computers. You can imagine how much things have changed in the Information Systems world. When I started, IBM was the big player and the PC and cell phone were still deep inside someone's mind.
When the PC came out we referred to it as "pretend computer" and wondered what the heck anybody would ever do with it. Funny how things have changed.
I learned and used so many programming languages I've forgotten what they were called. It provided a good living but I don't miss it one second. In 2008 I started working with a small air compressor company. We provide the high pressure air systems to hundreds of fire departments and any company that requires a self contained breathing air source.
I'm the VP and work with the owner (another past software guy) to run this company of 35 + or - employees. My 35 years in the information systems taught me a lot about business which has helped me in my new and improved position. Every time I take a few days off I can't imagine having everyday off. I have no plans to retire at this time even though I have been lucky to have worked 42 years without ever being unemployed.
I do wish that I could get to that 42 years of Social Security that I've paid without getting penalized.

Ground radio maintenance technician in the USAF for ten years, racing on the side the whole time. In 2005 I first opened the hood on a class 8 truck. Currently 2nd shift foreman at a Mack dealership. Kohlers are cheaper and easier on the back than big block v8s.

I actually have an R/C model of the ICON A5. Very cool plane. We fly it off some of the local lakes and ponds around Michigan.

I work wireline, we put explosives into gas wells to perforate the well casing.

Systems Administrator for Unified Brands, a Dover owned company in Wiedman, MI. I've been in IT since '99, although I'd kill to have grown up on a farm like some of you guys.
