Wiring vs lawn

Wiring harness update.
Have quite a bit of time and dollars into this harness but will come out OK.

Any place folks are getting headlights and tail lights for 147's?
Need both!

The wiring took a back seat to changing the fluids in the 127 and then mowing lawn and doing fall garden harvest work.
Back at it tonight after packing some maple candy for an order.
New seat should be in today or tomorrow.
Hope things are good out there in Cub land.

Wife found a yellow thing in the sugar house with a 102 on the side and asked where that came from. Does that mean I have to many? :)

Regards,
Chris

Thanks for the update, Chris! You can never have too many cubs...:biggrin2:.

Seat is in!

Allen,
The cub found in the sugarhouse tickled me too. I need to build another garage work shop for restorations!
Anyway I am whooped, Stick a fork in me I am done! Cheryl (wife) helped me box up the maple candy order. I also made some maple mustard for a order. She cooked on the grill, nice big steaks for supper!
I had time to open the box with the new seat and set it in position and take a couple pictures. I will try to load those by the weekend.
Todd the seat looks great! Cheryl wanted to know where the cup holder was:)
I think it is going to look real sharp on the 147R. Have to decide how to mount it.

Thanks to Duke I placed a order tonight for the headlights for the 147R and the 102 Cheryl just found in the sugar house.

Now I need a source for the tail lights. I could use just marker lights like I used on the 127?
Wont get back to the Cub till the weekend. And I need to get some deer stand time behind the house too.
Regards,
Chris

Chris,

I can't remember if it was a QL or a 149 that I read this on, but someone here used x82 series tail lights in place of the standard ones, and they looked great.

Come to think of it, it may have been Jeff on his 149 resto-mod. I think that's the way I'm going on my 1650.

I'm the guilty party! See post 67 for how I went about installing them, they fit the indentation in the fender just they were made for them!

Here is what they look like in a nice and shiney fender pan!

Looks nice, Jeff. :beerchug:

The OEM spec 147 tail lights look like aftermarket jobbies because they don't really fit the opening all that well. Makes me wonder if IH had the later style semi-flush in mind when they designed the fender pan. I'm going with later style tail lights as well.

Hey, it's a TSV sighting...haven't seen much in your project thread...get to work. :biggrin2:

Jeff,
Those lights look very nice. I need to go back to your thread and find the details of you installation.
For the time being and on the 147R I chose to go with a standard Truck Lite marker type RED tail light. Yea they dont fit as nice as you flush mounts but will do for now. Same ones I have on the 127.

These do not quite cover the widest holes in the fenders. I used stainless #8 screws and nuts and washers and they bolted into the next set of holes inboard. Looks pretty clean.
Had some quality time with the 147 this weekend.
- steering column installed
- drag link installed,
- wiring harness in place,
- Engine is in,
- tail lights wired, I ran a ground wire from the bat to the lights for these,
- SG is mounted and wired,
- ground wire is attached on S/G bracket.
- New seat is on, still a little more work to do on that.
- Governor lever is in position but needs adjusted.
I will try to get some pictures on here in the next day or so. Hope you guys can wait! We are making some progress!
Eric (son) got a nice buck Saturday evening so we are working on processing that. We take our time and make some quality venison burger, jerky and kielbasi. (11 point, 12 inch spread, 160 lb live weight). This will cut into the Cub time this week:) But I like to help him even though he will be 40 in June. Lets us spend some quality time together.
Regards,
Chris

Chris,

I think I paid $20 for the pair of 82 series tail lights from one of the sponsors....or may have been CCSpecialties.

Your PA deer must be small in comparison to our corn feed bruts here, not uncommon to get deer (does included) that field dress over 160 lbs here!
