I'm going to have to get one, as well!

Been so cold the fuel in my plow truck jelled up. If someone needs to get in my driveway, they can park at the road. Lol. Ain't no way I'm plowing my whole driveway with the 122 or the 140 so I hope the snow melts

Welcome to OCC! Good looking cub and blade!
|
Thanks guys. gonna go and get the weight box that was included with the tractor but did not purchase. the guy I bought it from wanted 700$ with a mower deck and blade I paid about 400 plus 200 in ag tires. runs good. as any cub she HATES extremely cold weather, I will indeed need to change the fluids, and oil. my hydrolic lines are wet so I'm a bit concerned with that. that's not the only cub I have. I currently am working on a 1250 with a cranky 12HP. motor mounts were SHOT. so Im dropping in a 14 hp out of a 1450 I had once apon a time. is there a thread here somewhere that explains the installation of motor mounts? Thanks fellas

Well, got home from work and was pleased to see the new 4.15" pulley from McMaster Carr was here only a day after I ordered it! So, naturally I grabbed a couple beers and got to work. Everything went as well as it could, put the pulley on, aligned it, tightened the set screw, and violla! Fired it up and went out to take it for a test spin. I went to lower it and plow into a drift and...uh oh...it won't go down. :bash2: I annoyingly pulled it back into the garage and started looking it over. 10 minutes I spent checking it out and trying to figure out whey it wouldn't lower. About ready to scrap it for the night, I look at the lift arm and see that the height adjustment set on the tractor became loose and prevented me from lowering the thing  Moved that and good to go again. Headed back out and gave it a try. The slightly smaller pulley worked like a charm and threw snow farther than the 682 did. I'm very pleased with the results of this setup, so now once again I'm just waiting for more snow :biggrin2: This is the only pic I got seeing as how it was after dark when I got home and done. All I've got left to do is swap rears with the 682 so I can have chains and I'll be good to go.

Glad you got some seat time!

Sounds like a great change and it looks like you have a very nice snow machine. I'm hoping for some more snow, as well, so we can have some 'cool runnings.
Glad you got it setup well! :beerchug: Cub Cadet 123 |
Glad to hear you got it fixed and is working good!

I got my smoothest running 129 with the sweepster broom out today. Engine purrs great, so I thought "snow time"! The sweepster broom cleared the snow like a mighty might--way better than my QA42A and my blade, but it is tremendously front end heavy with that weight so far out from the front end. I spun the back tires multiple times and that is if they were even touching, because sometimes it seemed like I was riding on air (and I think it was, even with my 200 lbs on it). Definitely need some weight on the rear of that cub!! Well, here was a quick snapshot of the broom kicking up the snow in the heat of the battle.

I so want one of those. Very cool, thanks for the pic.

This thread had a lot of really "cool" looking cubs set up for snow removal. Thought I would re-list since it has been a while and some newbies might like to see some old dogs in their snow outfits.

I started through it and a few in I had posted on it. No time to look through it all so will go slow and enjoy. You are right about some great set ups in this one.. :biggrin2:

When I realized there were so many pages to this thread, and I didn't recognize it as being new, I just flipped through looking at some pictures. There are A BUNCH of nice looking tractors and snow moving equipment here.
Good call bringing this thread back Cub Cadet 123! |
Wow, some nice tractors on this post. And I see ACecil had 20,500 post almost 5 years ago. No way anyone can catch up with that.
|
Great looking machines! Glad the thread was revived

Nice looking 104 with the lights, chains, wheel weights, and blade it looks like it makes for a Sunday drive when plowing, sd38-2. Looks like you have about an inch more of snow than I have. :biggrin2:

I have fallen short on preparation this year. 2072 is still spread across the garage. The 782 runs with fluid and 2 inside weights year around. Winter I add 75lbs per wheel of outside weights and chains. Son is light so have to augment. This year not much snow so nothing done yet. Really liking the rear blade addition. I use it to level gravel and dirt. Can mount the blade on edge(flat) to slice dirt humps as well. If only it and the front where separate. soon....

First time I got to play with the cub in the snow!

169 with chains and weight. Might get some turf tires and better chains next year. Maybe fill the tires with something. It does the job pretty good as-is.
