It's a "Proof of concept effort" so anything could change between day 1 to his final form. To date he success welding a frame extension and the mechanical challenge of coupling 2 hydro tranny together(No dual brake yet), That's the easy part? Maybe for some but not for all! I do agree with you his bed framing seem strange but who knows after few coffee time drawing he may end up with one of those scissor lift concept.

Oh yea of little faith...

See if this makes more sense. Pivot points for the bed are visible at rear. There are a couple more reinforcements yet to be added here, to be sure the pivot points will handle the dump bed load, but you get the idea.

The bed itself will extend rearward 6 inches past the pivot point and an inch on either side of the side rails. Bed size will be 36 inches wide and 30 inches front to back.

Lift cylinder will sit where the piece of wood is sitting. Rear end of cylinder will be secured toward the rear of this frame, forward end will be attached to underside of the bed.

Also, Oldskull, both sets of brakes are connected together, to operate simultaneously. See one of the first few posts for the linkage.

 I mist that one sorry but faith have nothing to do with my reply, I just didn't see the big picture yet and wondering what you have in mind but now it's clear like crystal Frank!

Snowed in today, and plowed the lane. Spent some more time in the shop...

Finalized the sub frame and tacked together the bottom of the dump bed.

If you look closely, you'll see I squared up the subframe pivot arms (two pieces of angle welded together) to ensure that they will support the weight of the bed when pivoted up for dumping. Much of the weight will be on the two pivot points cantilevered out behind the tractor. Didn't want those members to bend.

I admire your work! You work fast, efficient and effective!:beerchug::beerchug:

I just wish I could find time to work on some of my own projects like this!!:bash2::bash2:

I guess I need to either retire or quit my current self employed career or go find a 9 to 5 and work for somebody else:bash2::bigthink:

All jokes aside it does look really cool and I like it!!:biggrin2::biggrin2:

So will the cylinder be pretty much parallel with the bed and base frame?
Or will the cylinder base be below the frame that the wood is resting on in order to push up at an angle?

It has to push up at an angle or it will require excessive force to lift the bed. I've got some measurements to make before I make a final decision on lift length, direction and final location. I'm reconsidering hydraulic now. I don't know yet what I'm going to do.

It'll come to me as I continue to work on it.

Well, now that I see it together, it makes more sense.

Frank, you know I'm not picking on you, but I don't think the angle iron frame, running perpendicular to the tractor, that attaches to the outer box tube at the rear, is anywhere near strong enough to support much load. It will bow downward on the outside when stressed, or even bow back and down buckling under the load. That piece needs to be box tube, because it will also have a side load (for lack of a better term) applied to it when you make it a powered dump.

Just calling it as I see it. :beerchug:
