Thanks all for the replies. Lots to think about here. No beer however...not a fan of it.

Think what I'd do is keep saving for the time being, when a good mower comes up buy that, then go thru your 147, when it's done flip the mower tractor. Buy the Ags/ etc afterwards.
I always wanted a 450, I like the red/white paint scheme with the silver trim. After I ask myself what the hell I would do with it (besides a parade or 2 each year) I come back to reality. Now if I could find a nice 582 or Original, I'd probably jump on it.

Keep saving for the M. You won’t be sorry. It’s a real tractor, lots of fun stuff to do with real tractors.

Depends on what you want to do with the tractor. If you have a small piece of land and you want to farm a garden then a Farmall Cub is a great choice. They are cheap, lots of spare parts, and loads of really neat implements that can found and purchased cheaply. I like Fast Hitch implements which are harder to find and more expensive.
The most useful Letter series Farmall is a C or Super C. Install a Fast Hitch (yes it will also fit a C) and you have a very useful inexpensive tractor. My favorite. I love the M and H too, but you can't put a Fast Hitch on either one so you are limited to pull behind implements. Just my 2 cents worth. C&O2-10-4 |

Ah, Cubs. Only 8HP and cost around $2500 here. (Can get an M for less than that) A C? not really knocking those but I drove one once and it gave me THE worst wedgie so yeah............
Yours looks great! I appreciate the input from everyone.

Don’t let the hp of a Fcub fool you. It’s not lawnmower hp. An H had 22 or something like that, I’ve got supers with that much, and you couldn’t dream of doing things with a super that you could with an H. I guarantee I could drag any cub cadet(with twice the hp) around my yard with my Fcub all day long. Mowing is a different story, Fcubs are not that great for that.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
