Steering axle mount to frame
Where the pivot bolt goes thru the frame, the holes are worn oversize. Any ideas as what to do with them. The pivot pin was rusted in the axle, and all the wear was on the bolt and frame.

*Get your welder out and repair it with a new bushing. Cut the old one off the bolster and weld a new one on.
*Reem it and put in a bushing. *Reem the entire assembly and make an over sized pin. *Cut the bolster off your tractor. Cut a good bolter off a parts tractor, weld good bolster to your frame. None of these are too difficult to figure out...... |

I have used these in the past. The price has gone up some. Cut the old bushings off and weld in the new ones.

Bob,
For the first option that J-Mech has listed, you can contact forum member Jeff in PA and he can supply you with new bushings and pivot pin. He does very good work on the parts he makes. It appears that at least one sponsor at the top of the page has the OEM bushings and pivot pin too. And as DeltaCub pointed out, eBay has them.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
